Train Facilities and Services
1. High-speed rail AVE

Dining Information:
Premium tickets include one hot meal.
• The Elige fare in Estanda class allows for a cold meal request (requires additional application and payment, currently unavailable for booking)
• The Elige fare in Comfort class allows you to request either a cold meal or a hot meal (requires additional request and payment, currently not available for booking)
p.s. Dining car service is available from Sunday to Friday; no dining car service is provided on Saturdays, short-distance routes, and Spanish bank holidays.
2. Medium-distance AVANT trains
• No class distinction, only Turista class (second class) carriages available.
• 236 seats with adjustable backrests, each equipped with a foldable table.
•4 restrooms, including a dedicated restroom for visitors with disabilities
• Offers self-service dining and vending machines for purchasing cold drinks and aperitifs
• Both interior and exterior feature automatic doors, equipped with digital screens displaying train information, along with public speakers onboard.
• The train features climate control and provides space for infant diaper changing.
• Separate luggage storage spaces are provided at the train entrances and exits.
3. Long-distance overnight Trenhotel train
• Gran Clase Bed: First-class soft sleeper, luxurious single/double compartments. Each compartment is equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom, washbasin, and shower. Complimentary newspapers are provided. Double compartments are gender-segregated, and the entire compartment must be booked at the same time. Passengers can access and use the Salas Club lounges located at Barcelona Train Station and Madrid Chamartín Station.
• Preferente Bed: Business-class soft sleeper with single/double compartments, equipped with a washbasin, air conditioning, and newspapers. Double compartments are gender-segregated, and the entire compartment must be booked at the same time. Access to and use of the Salas Club lounges at Barcelona Train Station and Madrid Chamartín Station is included.
• Tourist Class Berth: Four-person hard sleeper with two upper berths and two lower berths, equipped with air conditioning. Passengers are separated by gender unless the entire cabin is booked.
•Seats: Hard seat. Both the Preferente class and Turista class carriages feature folding tables and air conditioning. Passengers traveling in Preferente class can access and use the Salas Club lounges located at Barcelona train station and Madrid Chamartín station.
Ticketing Deadline and Issuance Method
Spain's high-speed AVE trains, suburban trains, medium-distance trains, and long-distance day trains can be booked up to 75 days in advance.
Long-distance overnight trains can be booked 60 days in advance.

Pass Validity
Activation date: refers to the first use date selected when linking the pass to the app.
1. Before the pass is linked to the app and activated:
This pass must be activated within 11 months from the date of ticket issuance (purchase) (except for specified promotional products) and will expire thereafter.
For example, if a pass is purchased on January 1, its validity period starts from January 1 and remains effective for 11 months before activation. It can be activated on any day within these 11 months.
2. Link the Pass to the app for activation. After activation:
Continuous type
The validity period of the pass starts from the first travel date selected when linking the pass to the app, and it must be used consecutively for N days.
For example, if you purchase a 15-day consecutive package on Jan 1 and choose Feb 1 as the start date when linking the app, the expiration date will be calculated from Feb 1 (the selected activation date) and end on Feb 15.
Flexible
Valid for N days within X months from the first travel date selected when linking the pass to the app, calculated based on the pass's expiration date and duration.
For example, if you purchase a flexible package for 4 days within 1 month and choose Feb 1 as the start date when linking the app, the expiration date will be within 1 month from Feb 1, allowing you to use it on any 4 days during this period.

How to activate & deactivate a Eurail Pass
(1) Download the Eurail/Interrail Rail Planner app and activate your pass within 11 months from the date of purchase. The selected start date when activating the pass in the Rail Planner app will serve as the activation date, and the pass's validity period will begin from that date.
(2) Activation steps:
- Step 1: Enter your last name and the pass number sent by Trip.com, then add a new pass.
- Step 2: Create a new trip or select an existing trip in the app, then link the trip with your pass.
- Step 3: Enter your passport/ID number and select the first travel date to activate the pass. Please note that the pass must be activated online before boarding the train, as unactivated passes cannot be used for travel.
- Please note that seat reservations can be made without activating the pass.
- Please set your phone calendar to "Gregorian calendar" to activate your pass with the Rail Planner app.

(3) How to deactivate:
Please cancel the activation before the selected activation date (00:00 CET on that day). Use the Rail Planner app, go to "My Pass," tap the three dots in the upper right corner, and select "Deactivate Pass." The pass can be reactivated later. Alternatively, you can cancel the booking and request a full refund based on your travel plans.
***If you are unsure about your travel plans, do not activate, or make sure to deactivate before your selected travel date!!

How to Use the Travel Pass
After activating your Eurail/Interrail digital pass, simply follow these easy steps to start your journey.
Step 1: Plan your trip by searching for departure times through the Eurail/Interrail Rail Planner app
Step 2: Click to save your favorite itinerary (Save trip)
Step 3: After preparing for departure, add new trips to your pass
Step 4: For ticket inspection, go to "My Pass" and click "Show ticket" to display your digital pass. Please note that each travel day on the pass has different tickets, and each ticket will show all newly added itineraries for that travel day. If seat reservations are required for the route, please also present your reservation confirmation.
- Flexible passes apply: If the travel dates are not tour days, the tour duration must be used. Check the remaining tour days and full tour duration overview in "My Trip" and "My Pass".

How to Confirm If Seat Reservation Is Required
Please download the Eurail/Interrail Rail Planner App and search for your desired route. If the route is displayed as follows:
"No reservation needed" means no seat booking fee is required. The route is saved directly in the app and can be shown when boarding.
"Seat reservations required" indicates that seat reservations are mandatory
"Not in Pass network" means it is not included in the pass.

Group tour: Travel together with multiple people
If multiple people are traveling together, one mobile phone can activate multiple tickets simultaneously. If there are multiple passes on the same phone, please note the following:
- Each pass requires creating a separate itinerary in the app
- If you have already created an itinerary, you can copy the existing itinerary and link the copy to another pass. Please name each itinerary differently to manage all your trips effectively.
- When verifying tickets, each member using the pass must present their ticket. Please select another pass in "My Pass" and tap "Show ticket."
