Reviews: Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountain and Hoi An Ancient Town Group tour: Depart from Da Nang
Guest User2026-02-07
This half-day tour was booked on short notice; I booked it as soon as I landed in Da Nang that morning, and we departed promptly at 1:30 PM. Although it was only half a day, we visited quite a few places. First, we went to Son Tra Peninsula, where the sea view from the mountain was quite nice; taking a taxi would have cost a lot. Then we went to Marble Mountains, which are mainly caves and not very high. The English-speaking guide had a heavy Southeast Asian accent, but it was still understandable, and he was very enthusiastic, leading us through the entire tour. Next, we went to Hoi An. It felt quite late when we arrived, so after dinner, we only had a little over an hour left to explore, just enough for taking photos. However, the fellow travelers we met along the way were all very interesting; we helped each other, chatted, and took photos, making it a fun and memorable trip.

The pickup will arrive at the address you registered with your reservation. They arrived early and waited patiently. First, you'll take a car to go on a marine activity. If the guide offers a camera service, definitely take advantage of it! We initially thought they were talking about GoPros, so we didn't sign up, but it turned out they filmed us with a drone. I regretted it after seeing the next group. The drone is provided by the activity manager, not the guide, and you have to pay extra, but at 600,000 VND (30,000 KRW) per person, it's well worth it to have a veteran drone pilot. For marine activities, there are water skiing, a wet boat ride (or something like that), and a banana boat ride to see the coral reefs. The water skiing is super fun. You can see the coral, but it rained the day before, so it wasn't very visible. After the marine activities, there are no showers; you can only rinse off with water. Be sure to bring a towel, a change of clothes, and a bag for your wet clothes. Afterwards, we'll head to the nearby Seonungsa Temple to explore and take some photos. After a quick look around, we'll head to the nearby Santra Marina. They serve coffee and snacks, and the coconut coffee is really delicious. After we'd finished eating and rested, they'd drop us off at our desired location. We told them we wanted to go back to our accommodation and shower, so they asked if we could wait while they showered and then take us to our next destination. The guide spoke Korean fluently and was friendly.

The tour was well organized. They picked me up from my hotel exactly at the appointed time in the morning. We quickly made our way to the cable car, even though it was very crowded. We had plenty of time to see the sights.

The tour guide was very enthusiastic. Despite the hot weather, he led us around and explained everything. The entire group consisted of Russians, Chinese, and Japanese; none of them spoke English as their native language. The guide's English also had a strong Southeast Asian accent, so many of us struggled to understand, but he patiently explained everything. We visited three places in one day, each with its own unique features. First, we saw a lake, which was even more beautiful than I expected in photos. Then we went to the mausoleum, where we learned about the history, which was quite interesting. Finally, we visited the Imperial City, where the guide provided the most detailed explanation, leading us through about two-thirds of the area. Everyone we met along the way was also very friendly, helping each other and chatting—it was a memorable experience. I hope the tour can have a Chinese-speaking guide in the future.
Reviews: Self-Guided Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge Full-Day Experience | Admission Ticket + Private Transfer | From Da Nang or Hoi An

Overall, Ba Na Hills is a highly recommended attraction. We were lucky; the sun was shining brightly throughout, the itinerary was conveniently coordinated, the driver was punctual, and customer service provided e-tickets, giving us a lot of freedom in choosing which activities to participate in. Customer service was online throughout the trip to answer our questions. However, there wasn't much Chinese-speaking staff on the mountain, so finding specific spots was a bit difficult. The buffet lunch had a wide selection and good value. After descending the mountain, we discussed with the driver whether we could be taken to a Go supermarket to end the trip. The driver was very responsible and informed customer service that it was okay, saving us the trouble of leaving from the hotel – very thoughtful. It's perfect for those who want a slower pace and a more relaxed experience. A great trip!
