We loved our guide Diana and our driver Marcelo was excellent. For our first full day in Quito, we booked this Ecuador’s Best Tour of the city. We live at sea level in Seattle and wanted to take it easy due to Quito’s high elevation. We were also concerned about safety in an unfamiliar city after a couple of days of exhausting travel. So we appreciated the guide and driver very much. We enjoyed every stop on our tour. Diana walked with us every step of the way, patiently answered all of our questions and helped us understand the culture of Ecuador.
Later, after we got back from the Galapagos, we learned that some of the group members had gone exploring on their own and were robbed of expensive items in Old Quito, so I was especially appreciative of the excellent guidance of Diana and Marcelo. I never felt unsafe, and Quito has a better police presence than Seattle, including touristic police, but as a stranger in a new city, we can be at a disadvantage on our own, even though we use money belts and phone lanyards when traveling.★

We were looking for a half day tour which would give us an orientation to Quito after a late arrival the day before. The convenience of a hotel pickup made things very easy for us.
Andres gave us a great introduction to the local cuisine, visiting landmark businesses we never would have found on our own. We had a lot of fun trying the amazing variety of foods based on the abundant fruits and vegetables grown in Ecuador. Walking through Old Town in pursuit of these foods made it perfect. Thanks to Andres for his great selections and knowledge. ★

Reviews: Private Full Day Experience at Papallacta Hot Springs

We booked a day at the Papallacta Hot Springs with LatitudeTripec, through ***. Andrés picked us up at our hotel at the arranged time (he was a few minutes early). We then headed out of Quito towards the hot springs, with a few stops to admire the scenery along the way. Andres is knowledgeable, personable and fluent in English, making for good conversation along the drive.
The Papallacta Hot Springs were truly amazing and the cool air made them even more enjoyable. Andres helped us get checked in and checked on us throughout our soak but allowed as much time in the pools as we wanted. It was a truly relaxing and magical experience.
Supper was at a local, authentic Ecuadorian restaurant. Nothing fancy but the food was delicious.
This tour was the perfect combination of fun and relaxing and I would highly recommend it.
