From the moment we booked Michael was fantastic. Very informative and clear on every detail. We were welcomed from the second we stepped off the train. Everything from the hotel to the trip was perfect. Our guide for Machu Picchu was fantastic. Walter you are a legend!!! If I could give more stars I would. Highly recommend

Machu Picchu is amazing, as is Aguas Calientes - you should actually spend more time here if possible. I took a star off the rating because we felt like we were on our own on this tour. Granted, we did opt to change our bus time to an earlier slot so we could get to town and explore a bit before the actual tour, but, we had no details on the bus stop, etc. it was really kind of a figure it out as you go kind of tour. They noted they were sending a taxi for us first thing in the morning, the taxi didn’t show. We did get to the bus stop on our own with literally a minute to spare. We kind of expected to meet a guide or group at the bus stop to go up to Machu Picchu, but there wasn’t anyone. Once we got to the entrance of Machu Picchu, we were looking all over for the new guide that was told to us (different from the one we had been communicating with the entire time), he finally found us and told us that he wasn’t actually the tour guide and someone else would show up shortly. Our actual tour guide was AMAZING and we really really enjoyed our time with him. The site is breathtaking and obviously a must visit but this trip was just unorganized and left us feeling a bit anxious. All is well that ends well and we did get a great circuit and guide, I think we just had a bit higher expectations for the actual organization of the trip.
Reviews: 2-Day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Guest User2025-12-08
We did a custom 4d/3n short Inca trek with Sacred Valley tour and it was fantastic from start to finish. David and Alicja were both excellent in their communication prior to the tour starting and we felt in very safe and capable hands. They were flexible and willing to make adjustments based on our requests. David was an excellent guide who was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about Inca history but about Peruvian culture and modern history too. I really recommend using Andean Path if you're considering travel in Peru and the Cusco region
Reviews: 1-day tour to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu from Cusco (bookable for one person, round-trip train, admission ticket and guide included)

A silky smooth journey! 【First, the value】Beforehand, I looked at travel guides online and was completely overwhelmed. Places like Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes were incomprehensible. I was already in Cusco, why not just go straight to Machu Picchu? It seemed impossible; I had to book all sorts of train tickets, bus tickets, entrance fees, etc., and it required real-name registration and two months' advance notice. They even said it might take two days to get there. What kind of vacation is this? It's as mentally taxing as going to work! Finally, I saw a day trip package on Ctrip. The price seemed high at first glance, but the service was truly "silky smooth and professional"—worth it. All guide fees, entrance fees, train tickets, bus tickets, hotel pick-up and drop-off were included, and lunch was also included. The food was quite good (soup, main course, dessert). The restaurant was suspended over the Urubamba River; eating while watching and listening to the roaring river was quite an experience. 【Second, the highlights】It was definitely a mindless, relaxing trip. Joyce from China had created a WeChat group beforehand, which was very helpful; I could just contact her if anything happened. The guide was also one-on-one (though I might have been the only one there that day). Paul's explanations were professional and humorous; he described himself as a mix of Inca and Spanish influences, covering astronomy, geography, religion, and culture, and he was also a great photographer. [Finally, about the itinerary] Looking back, we were picked up from the hotel at 6:00 AM. After a 90-minute drive, we arrived at Ollantaytambo train station. From there, the train took another 90 minutes to Aguas Calientes station, followed by a 25-minute bus ride (a domestically produced Yutong bus!) to the Machu Picchu entrance. All the entrance tickets, bus tickets, train tickets, contact numbers, and restaurant addresses were in an envelope. I carried it through each checkpoint, and at each point, someone held up a sign with my name to guide me to the next stop. If there were any problems, I could call the number on the envelope, and they all resolved them. Finally, I was taken back to the hotel at 7:00 PM. Overall, it was fantastic!

If you only have a day to go to Machu Picchu this is a good option, just make sure you know all the logistics ahead of time cause you have a lot of transportation to take.
Reviews: 1-Day Tour to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu from Cusco, Peru (Minimum 1 Person Booking + Includes Admission Ticket, Train Ticket + Guide)

I decided to go to Machu Picchu two days before departure. Many people buy their own Machu Picchu tickets and PeruRail tickets, but my credit card security was too strong and I couldn't make the payment. I discovered that I could pay through TRIP.COM, so I applied. I applied because I heard that a tour would definitely arrange the tickets for me. Even though it was just before the trip, they kept in touch with me and I was able to sightsee without any problems.
