What a great place. Our guide told us all about the trees, the animals and the fauna. The birds were amazing, I could sit and watching Humming birds all day. The white faced monkeys were a delete as were the Macaws.
We even say a Cinnamon tree and had the chance to smell the living bark. Plus the cannon ball tree.★

Edgar was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Roatán and its people. He went above and beyond in providing us with a robust experience during the tour, including finding the village historian in Punta Gorda to talk to us. It was really cool to find out more about Roatan from locals! One thing to mention is that Roatan has recently passed laws prohibiting people from handling the monkeys and sloths, so you will be looking at them in a cage or while they’re on top of trees, not interacting with them. It’s still super cute to see them, but just adjust your expectations if you thought you were going to hug a sloth. :-)★

From the beginning, it seemed like it was going to be a bad experience, since we waited for transport for almost an hour in an open area, until the manager arrived and restored order. He assigned us a guide and driver, and it was truly a fabulous experience. The guide was attentive, explaining and talking about the area the whole time. He even stopped for us at a pharmacy to buy medicine when one of our family members was feeling unwell. The monkeys were the best part of the trip, a spectacular sight, and the sloths were something truly remarkable. The time definitely flew by. The snorkeling was short, but of all the spots I've been to these past few days, this was undoubtedly the best area for it.★

Fantastic tour. There were only four of us. We were the only tourists at the iguana and monkey enclosure. Our guide even let us stay on the beach for two extra hours. Great guide, great trip.
