Reviews: 1-day tour to Meteora, the Greek Sky City [includes lunch, multilingual guide/minibus options]
Guest User2025-11-02
The itinerary was fantastic. The local driver and guide were friendly and explained everything clearly. The director even offered to take photos for us. The included lunch was also delicious, with each person receiving a traditional Greek salad and a main dish (choose one from ten options). The scenery was beautiful, and although the travel time was long, it was well worth the trip.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Meteora Sky City from Athens, Greece with round-trip transportation + optional lunch

The scenery was absolutely stunning, exceeding my expectations! The itinerary went very smoothly. Although the travel time was quite long, there were restroom breaks and mealtimes along the way. The tour guide provided clear explanations and was very nice. It was a wonderful day trip experience!

I really enjoyed both the excursion and the attention we received at all times.
Reviews: Athens: Meteora Monasteries Day Trip with Caves and Lunch

We started late from Athens (didn’t understand actual reason) and missed 1 out of 3 monasteries planned for the day. However, our guide Clement showed us many sights other than the two monasteries! Long tiring day but the views are worth it :)

one of the best highlights of my Greece holiday! Amazing destination in Greece! Though, its tiring to travel almost 6hrs due to road closure, it was super worth it!
Reviews: Athens: Full-Day Meteora Tour with Local Guide & Greek Lunch

We boarded the bus from Larissa Station at 7:55 AM. The bus was labeled "Meteora Trip," so it was easy to find the meeting point. Since we had opted not to include lunch, we bought some snacks at a cafe beforehand, which was a great decision. Everest is the only attraction near Larissa Station, so if you want something other than bread, it's a good idea to bring some with you. The tour ends around 10 PM, so it's not a bad idea to bring some. We stopped at a rest area along the way, but there were so many other tour groups that we had to wait in line for the restroom. The Meteora tour itself was great, and we had a fun and efficient time exploring. We had originally planned to stay in Kalambaka and go to Delphi, so we considered going on our own, but in the end, we're glad we chose this tour. Both the value for money and Taipa were great. Harry, our tour guide, had a strong accent, but he repeatedly reminded us of the meeting time, explained the locations, and confirmed the number of people in our group. He also stopped at various photo spots, which I think would have been difficult to do on my own. Apparently it was featured on the TV show "From the Window of the World," and if you search online, it will come up. They even greeted me a little in Japanese. It said women should wear skirts, but most of the customers were wearing pants. Some people were refused entry to the church or even scolded, so women should be careful. The monastery also costs 5 euros in cash. Considering you'll be visiting all three monasteries and buying souvenirs at each, I recommend bringing at least 25 euros in cash. I spent 21 euros. There was no Wi-Fi on the way there, but only on the bus on the way back. There were charging ports on both the way there and back, but they were in different locations and hung down from above, so it's a good idea to have a long cable. There were both USB and Type-C ports. I was able to make it almost always on time, but there was one person who was about 5 minutes late every time, which caused some irritation... Not only the monasteries, but the terrain as well was incredibly beautiful, so I definitely recommend going.
