Reviews: Kota Kinabalu Kawa-Kawa River Cruise Proboscis Monkey & Fireflies with Hi-Tea & Dinner Shared Day Tour
Guest User2026-02-23
Our tour guide, Xiao Chen, was lovely and wonderful! There were more places to eat than we expected, and fresh coconuts were available for purchase. The mountain road was a bit bumpy, but that was unavoidable given the environment. There was also a free farm where we could feed the animals, which were very cute. The staff on the boats to see the monkeys and fireflies were all very cheerful. It was a very worthwhile trip!
Reviews: Authentic Mengalum Island 1-day tour - optional scuba diving + optional mangrove/ multiple bases available
Guest User2026-01-31
The boat trip takes about an hour and a half each way. Those sitting in the front are more prone to seasickness and vomiting, while those in the back avoid this problem, although the very last row is more likely to get wet. Aside from the long journey, the seawater on the island is incredibly clear. Even non-swimmers can gradually learn the ropes with the instructor's help. The product descriptions and actual products match. For those who don't want to pay extra, you can prepare your own supplies beforehand to avoid additional charges. The staff are very friendly, and the food is quite delicious. Overall, it was a good trip.
Reviews: Sapi Island Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia + Manukan Island Day Tour [Snorkeling + Seafood Buffet Lunch + Water Attractions & Tours]
Guest User2026-02-03
Ideal for families with children. The two islands are very close and offer snorkeling suitable for kids. You can ask if the tour guide is Ah Hong; he's responsible, humorous, and friendly. He even helped us find a Chinese-speaking instructor on the spot. He said you can get everything arranged by just mentioning his name when you arrive on the island. It's 279 per person, including pick-up and drop-off, lunch, and snorkeling gear. Very hassle-free. Look for the gentleman in the photo.

Reviews: Sabah Kawa Mangrove Forest Day Trip [Small group tour available | Mosque | Proboscis monkeys and fireflies]

I think this is a very worthwhile part of Kota Kinabalu; the fireflies are beautiful, and the tour guide is excellent. Aside from the slightly bumpy ride on the main road, there are no other downsides.
Reviews: Kota Kinabalu Kiulu Water Raft and Mari-Mari Cultural Village Tour

Jiulu rafting is very exciting, but not dangerous, the coach is professional and very careful, I was afraid of the water, let me enjoy this journey! Mali Mali Cultural Village also makes me very unforgettable! The tour guide Cavin is very professional and attentive, and the commentator Ray is also very professional and let me know a lot about the customs of Malaysian indigenous peoples!
