If you are looking for a day trip from Bangkok that offers more than just shopping and temples, this Kanchanaburi itinerary is an absolute must-do. It was the highlight of my Bangkok trip! The day started with a bang at the famous bridge. It's a beautiful spot for a stroll. Standing on such a significant piece of World War II history while looking out over the peaceful river was the perfect way. Then, walking along the historic wooden viaducts of the Death Railway was a surreal experience. The railway hugs the side of a cliff with the beautiful River Kwai flowing directly below. Watching the train slowly pass over the vintage tracks is a moment I won't soon forget. It's a powerful mix of stunning natural scenery and sobering history. Finally, the highlight was definitely the Giraffe Encounter at Safari Park. Getting to feed these gentle giants from the bus-or opting for the private Jeep photoshoot-was incredible. The giraffes are so friendly and hungry! It's an interactive experience.★

It was a fantastic day. Both the driver and the elephant carer were nice talkative and helpful people. The transport in a small bus - very comfortable. The activities at the Elephants’ World were diversified and well organized. I have fun so do my teenage kids. Really worth spending the money.
