We had such a great day with Kyn! Our tour was on a small boat, and we learned lots about the local area and way of life, enjoyed h the r most DELICIOUS breakky at the floating markets, saw how people live on the Mekong, and the also visited a rice noodle factory and the cacao plantation. I must say, the floating market was not very busy - maybe 20 boats at the most, I had expected more but sounds like lots of sellers are moving to land and off the river, so regardless it was special to see as the market may not be around in ten years time. Such a great trip, taken to another level with Karaoke on the way home! Thoroughly enjoyed, thank you Kyn
Reviews: Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Day Tour

We had a great day on this tour. We were picked up in Ho Chi Minh City and went by bus to see the Cu Chi tunnels from the Vietnam War. It was very interesting and informative, and the guide explained a lot. Walking inside the tunnels was amazing - very narrow and unforgettable. After that we had lunch, and it was a big surprise: a lot of food and everything was very tasty. Then we went to the Mekong River and had a nice boat ride, which was really fun. We also saw how coconut candies are made and visited a small honey farm. Our guide Luis was excellent. He was very friendly, helpful, answered all our questions, and clearly cared about making the tour enjoyable. We really appreciated his effort. Highly recommended!
Reviews: Mekong Delta One-day Tour in Ho Chi Minh City, Boats tour to My Tho - Vinh Trang Pagoda - Thoi Son Island [ English-Guide | No Shopping | Hotel Pick-up - Lunch included]

I booked a VIP tour this time, and the itinerary was very packed, with five or six boat trips in total, making it a fairly in-depth tour. The Mekong River didn't look very clear; the water was quite yellow and covered with water hyacinths, but there was no unpleasant odor. The island had many plants (various fruits) and animals (pythons, crocodiles, catfish, etc.), and the guide led the tour, providing very enthusiastic explanations. At the narrow section of the river where boats were manually rowed, the guide mentioned that a tip was expected for the rowers. Before the tour ended, the guide suggested that if we were satisfied with the trip, we could also tip him; I felt I had to give him something, otherwise I'd feel awkward.
