The tour guide was incredibly professional and attentive. There were only two of us, and he took photos of us at every attraction โ they were even better than the photos we took ourselves! I think this is a very worthwhile part of Kota Kinabalu; the fireflies are beautiful, and the tour guide is excellent. Aside from the slightly bumpy ride on the main road, there are no other downsides.โ

Highly recommend the Mermaid Island day trip! It features a fully Chinese-speaking guide, complete snorkeling equipment, a buffet lunch with some fresh seafood like shrimp and crab, and free beach activities including a bubble machine. Excellent value for money!โ

Ordered the trip via trip.com and the driver arrived at a different hotel. No one called, no one answered our calls. Fortunately, the trip.com assisted with solving the issue pretty well and we went on this trip on a different day. The guide, Ken, was a lot of fun. The trip itself was interesting despite the long distances. We bought yogurt and cheese on the farm, tasted good. The lunch was good.๎ฅ
