We loved this experience and would highly recommend it. Set in a charming music room of an historic house, we benefited from an intimate performance by Claudia and her two accomplices. The quality of their respective performances were far beyond our expectations and their enthusiasm and engagement with the small (10 person), multicultural audience was delightful and amusing. Along with the music we were treated to a generous glass of tawny port and a welcome pastis de nata. Claudia's voice reminded me of a plaintive Edith Piaf and enabled us to feel both the highs and lows of a Fado. This did not feel like a standard 'tourist' performance. It was much more.

An excellent trip with a superb host - Mauro. Not only did the trip take in the beautiful and picturesque Paiva walkways but we benefited from the charming coastal resort of Aveiro and all that this area has to offer, including the wild Atlantic coast. Included in the day was a lovely lunch, real value for money.

We had an exceptional experience at Fado na Baixa in Porto. The performance featured highly professional musicians and singers who delivered traditional fado music with remarkable passion and emotion. Their beautiful performances truly moved the audience. Between the live performances, the show included informative video clips that explored the history of fado, including the Coimbra style of fado and the important role of female fado singers. Learning about the origins and evolution of this music greatly deepened our appreciation of what we were hearing. The space itself was super intimate and cozy, which made the experience feel even more personal and immersive. If we return to Portugal, we would definitely love to experience this performance again. We strongly recommend Fado na Baixa to all visitors to Portugal.

You MUST do this boat ride We were met at the marina by Antonio and his mom Christina who took us out on the Duoro river for a too brief 2 hour cruise under the six bridges of Porto. Antonio was charming informative and interesting. We had green (early) wine and almonds that were delicious. The wine was from their family site and delicious. This is a family run business and his father and mother come from mariners who once fished the river. This was a highlight of Porto. BTW Antonio is smart charming handsome and available.


