Such a great trip! Grant (or Grant but in a kiwi accent) was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the culture and history during the long van rides. Glowworm caves were cool but the highlight for me was definitely the geysers. The whole experience was great and am so grateful that they offer a trip like this including transport since Rotorua is quite a distance away.
Note: this experience did not include a Māori performance or haka. If I read the description better I wouldve known that but that is the only thing I was a little bummed about. The experience is great, but just note what is actually included if thats what you are looking for.★

David is amazing tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and professional. The tour is a great experience that is hard to miss if your are visiting New Zealand. The Waitamo Cave tour is more impressive than the description. The hobbitown is like a paradise. We were able to get free drinks during our trip. Umbrella is available to borrow if it starts raining. We were able to go inside the hobbit house and check out the fine furnitures. These two places are worth the trip.★

Both caves were cool for their uniqueness, but the Waitomo Caves were remarkable for the dazzling display along the indoor boat ride! The Mauri community preserves this site very well and makes it special. Our driver Marty was a definite impediment though. His accent was so heavy, most of us on the bus struggled to understand what he was saying! His driving was frightening at times. I am not sure he's a good fit for accomodating tourists as he isn't terribly friendly or hospitable as he was insistent on only going to places that would serve him a free meal or drink as a tour guide. This activity may be better if booked with a different agency in all honesty.Trip.com Picks
