A trip to this part of India without a visit to the backwaters would be incomplete. My driver Shaneer showed up early to pick me up, which was highly appreciated. His auto is extremely comfortable which made for an enjoyable ride to the Alleppey boat jetty. Shaneer’s mastery of English made the long ride educational and fun. When we arrived at the jetty the boat diver, Manu was waiting. I was happy i booked the canoe boat because this allowed us to go into some of the smaller canals which are more interesting then the larger ones. Manu told me about like in his village, about the rice farming and other interesting points along the way. I highly recommend both Scanner and Manu for this trip if they are available. I would like to come back in the future and do the ride just before sunset, I think the would make for beautiful lighting for photography.

This trip is amazing and well worth the money spent. We were treated so kindly by both our guide and driver, who wanted to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves. Our driver was a "pro." Driving in traffic in India is a challenge and he safely delivered us to and from. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. The beauty of southern India speaks for itself. What a long but extraordinary day!

My first day in Kochi was action packed and unforgettable thanks to Asad and this awesome tour. We visited some of Kochi's most popular destinations but also some places that are off the beaten path. I loved learning about Kerala, and hearing about Asad's life and family as we zipped around town. While the tour had a definite structure to it, I appreciated the fluidity and flexibility that Asad offered as well. When I was thirsty, we stopped for a coconut. When I was hungry he recommended a delicious veg restaurant called Sri Krishna to try and waited for me while I ate. He also took me to an ATM. All of this on top of a wonderful tour!! If I ever come back to Kochi I will most definitely reach out for round 2. Thanks for everything!!


