Reviews: Lisbon to Sintra Pena & Regaleira guided tour in 8pax group

My husband and I went on a tour to Sintra with an international group. We really enjoyed it. Our guide, Dmitry, explained everything in detail, made jokes, and drove carefully! The guide spoke both Russian and English, so there were no misunderstandings; everything was clear and to the point. We highly recommend this tour!

Hosted by Javi, a very happy experience indeed for the three of us. Including the stops on the coast was a very big plus. Good lunch spot and food.

Rodrigo was a great guide and driver! He shared historical information with knowledge and confidence in a story telling way that brought the people and events to life. He did a great job. Make sure you are ready to walk a good distance over rough cobbles and up lots of hills and stairs. It’s completely worth it at all venues.

The day starts early (8:00 a.m.) in Rossario Square, followed by about an hour's drive to the Pena Palace (outside of palace is beautiful, but make sure you also include the interior guided tour). Beautiful, well preserved interiors. Some stairs inside, but easy to navigate. Then off to Regaleira (quite a bit of walking in the gardens here). High lite was stroll through the manmade caverns and the well (lots of stairs here to descend the well to the bottom and the caverns - you don't exit the same way - no stairs to exit). Cabo da Roca had great views of the ocean, which at times can be very rough, creating incredible waves crashing on the sea cliffs. Our day was incredibly winding, making vertical walking almost impossible, but still an experience. Lastly, Cascais was just a drive-by, drive-through visit on the return to Lisbon.
