We visited in November on a weekday. Lesser crowd and the weather was perfect, sunny between 10°C & 15°C. Our tour came with a guide who got us the tickets and planned the hiking routes, covering every "tourist-must-see" parts of the mountain.
The buffet lunch recommended by the guide at ¥98/pax up on the mountains is a really good deal too.
Huangshan is NO JOKE. The 8km up and down the steps lasted for almost 6 hours, excluding the one-way 20mins shuttle bus ride & one-way 10mins cable car ride. At the end of the tour our legs were not cooperative anymore.
Besides the breathtaking views, it was also heartbreaking to see elderly potters carrying approximately 180 catties (about 108kg!) of goods up and down the mountains. They are literally breaking their backs 😭! Some even stopped and asked passers-by for water / food. Would forming a bucket brigade or a human chain be workable?★

Our tour guide, Louis, was truly wonderful! 👍🏻 He answered all our questions, explained things clearly and simply, and even helped us with our luggage 🧳. He also provided other relevant information about the tour. 💡🫰🏻 The weather was fantastic that day ☀️ We took so many beautiful photos, visited all the must-see places, and did all the sightseeing we wanted. My mother is older and couldn't walk much towards the end, so the tour guide thoughtfully went to the parking lot 🅿️ to get the car and then drove it back to pick us up. It was so considerate, heartwarming, and touching 🥰�️. Thank you 😊 for giving us such wonderful memories and a great experience! 🫰🏻Trip.com Picks
