I really wanted to go to Wolong, so I applied. They call you in English beforehand to confirm your participation, so you need to be able to answer the phone. It seems that you can use WeChat's phone function if you can connect via WeChat. They ask you to send a photo of your passport. The meeting time was 6:50 AM the next day, but the final meeting location was set at 10 PM the day before. They sent a photo of the meeting location and detailed directions from the nearest station via WeChat. On the day, the driver only spoke Chinese, so I had no idea what they were saying. My ticket was supposed to be picked up at the ticket office in Wolong, but they told me through a translation app that the payment hadn't been sent yet. I contacted them through WeChat and negotiated, and they finally got my ticket. However, I couldn't figure out how to get on the tour bus to the Panda Center or where to board the return tour bus. A kind person called me and helped me out by explaining things through a translation app. The meeting point for the return bus to Chengdu was the same as where I got off, but they sent me a message via WeChat at noon. I somehow made it back to Chengdu. I was grateful for the support I received via WeChat, but the tour was entirely in Chinese, so it was quite a tightrope walk.

The guide system was particularly effective; we had a dedicated English-speaking guide whose passion and deep knowledge brought the history of the region to life. She didn't just show us ancient sites - she connected the ingenious principles of the 2,000-year-old irrigation system directly to its vital role in Sichuan today, which was fascinating. A crucial piece of advice: ensure you have WeChat installed. Our guide used a chat to align the hotel pickup and share route details. An absolutely first-class, educational, and enjoyable day.

I was extremely satisfied with driver Xiao Cui on this trip to Dujiangyan! He was warm, honest, and provided attentive and thoughtful service. He was very familiar with the roads in and around Dujiangyan, and his itinerary was well-planned, avoiding detours and wasting time, making the entire trip worry-free and reassuring. Along the way, he patiently introduced local attractions and offered practical travel tips, answering all my questions—he was very reliable. He proactively helped with my luggage, and his attitude was gentle and polite. Overall, his service far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend him to anyone traveling to Dujiangyan. Panda Valley and Dujiangyan are two treasure troves where you can escape the crowds and enjoy the natural environment. Panda Valley offers close encounters with pandas and boasts a beautiful and refreshing natural setting; Dujiangyan is magnificent and spectacular, with a rich variety of delicious food in its ancient town. The entire trip was very comfortable. Our driver, Jiang Wensong, was friendly, enthusiastic, and patient, driving smoothly and safely. He recommended delicious restaurants and a time-saving and energy-efficient route. The guide in Dujiangyan provided humorous and engaging explanations that also helped us understand the water conservancy project.


