The service was incredibly responsive throughout. I inquired months in advance, and the staff were all very friendly. Our guide, Mr. Long, was also fantastic! His service was absolutely amazing – a superb smile! His driving skills were top-notch, he was very punctual, and we chatted and laughed the whole way. He even recommended some attractions and good restaurants! He was also very thoughtful (providing directions to restrooms, dining options, etc.). The weather was perfect too! Absolutely amazing! They also have tours to Izu!! And this year's mild winter meant the cherry blossoms in Izu bloomed a few days ago! Everyone, go for it!!! Contact the shop and make your plans now!!! Be sure to wear sunscreen, as the sun is incredibly strong!!★

TLDR: Great day trip experience to this nice resort and attraction beside a section of the Great Wall. Dec is their low shoulder period, so not all shops and shows are open. Best to come in spring or autumn where the lake is still accessible. It was frozen when I was there. Description as is, simple to redeem. Driver was nice, trip took 2 hours to reach, spent the whole day walking thru the town then going up the Great Wall. You could also stay for 2 days 1 night watch the shows, walk the town in the evening and see the Great Wall lighted up at night. Note: lots of walking required★

Excellent tour! The guide was wonderful. She was engaging and fun to talk about, and she was very helpful. She speaks three languages (Chinese, Russian, and English). The tour itself is excellent; you can climb the Great Wall of China in a day; it's a very beautiful section. And Gubei itself evokes nothing but delight and joy, making me want to return.Trip.com Picks
