We had a wonderful day trip! We booked a day in advance through the Trip.com mobile app, and although we weren't departing from Sapporo, thanks to excellent communication and understanding, we were able to join the group at Asahiyama Zoo on time. Our guide, Sophia, was incredibly attentive, communicating in Japanese, English, and Mandarin to ensure everyone understood the itinerary.
We had ample time to explore and take photos at each attraction. One pleasant surprise was the unexpected opportunity to see the Biei Christmas tree up close, something we had originally planned to only view from the bus. Thanks to Sophia and the driver's on-site assessment, the entire group was able to get off the bus for photos!
Speaking of the driver, he could also communicate with us in Japanese and Mandarin. Since our hotel was located in Asahikawa and we weren't returning to Sapporo by tour bus, the guide and driver even checked the public bus schedules after New Year's Day to understand any special changes and arrangements. Their meticulous and patient service made our experience even more enriching.
At Blue Pond and Shirahige Falls, Sophia's explanations gave us a deeper understanding of these beautiful places. Heartfelt thanks to Trip.com for the arrangements, and to Gogoday for the day trip that added such unforgettable moments to our Hokkaido trip! ๐๐โ

The itinerary was well-planned, and our tour guide, Bingbing, was incredibly kind. At the Asahikawa Zoo stop, she personally led us to the penguin parade area, where we found a great viewing spot. Along the way, she also recommended other attractions and local delicacies. The weather was fantastic today, and we visited all the attractions, plus the tour guide gave us 5 to 10 minutes more time than usual. We enjoyed local cuisine and bought some souvenirs we liked. So happy! ๐โ

The scenery was absolutely stunning after the snowfall, with beautiful views all along the way. The zoo was fantastic, especially the Emperor Penguins. There's a penguin walking show after December 12th, but you can already get quite close inside the zoo. All the animals can be observed up close. With only two hours, I recommend taking the middle path down, then exploring the predators on the right, and finally the polar animals on the left, following an S-shaped route. The Lonely Tree offers views from the vehicle, and the Whitebeard Waterfall and Green Pool are absolutely gorgeous. Walking along the path, with the glacier water and the surrounding scenery, felt like stepping into a fairyland. Finally, head to the terrace, which is itself a world-class ski resort. The terrace is filled with exquisite handicrafts, but it gets quite crowded, making it difficult to take photos. The itinerary is tight, so buy plenty of food for the car. If it's snowing, definitely wear crampons, as it's easy to slip and fall when walking from the parking lot to the terrace. Don't be late, as it will delay the entire trip and significantly impact your return journey, as road conditions are not ideal and traffic jams or closures are common.โ

Mandy is a great tour guide, keeping everyone in check, we joined her tour on 12 January and also on 14 January, and she was great on both days. The weather was bad, so trip to Ningle Terrace was cancelled but Mandy apologized and gave us more time at other locations. Overall a memorable experience and convenient to travel with tour compared to DIY as no need to worry about transportation. The scenery was too beautiful!๎ฅ
