This was a great experience as it gave us a great overview of life & customs in Nairobi. We actually rode the bus ( one driver changed the music for us), went to the local market & picked out our produce & then the butcher shop. From there a short walk to Nimoh’s apt. Then we cooked away. Delightful afternoon.★

The Airport Express is the perfect starting point for experiencing Hong Kong's professionalism. Before departing, I had some time to wait at Taoyuan Airport, so I chose to relax and dine at the Plaza Premium Lounge. This lounge is a popular choice for many travelers before transit, and while the overall experience has its advantages, there are areas for improvement. Here's my experience:

🛋️ User Experience
My first impression upon entering the lounge was that the seating was quite dense, but the overall environment was relatively clean, and the atmosphere was much quieter than the departure lounge. Since the lounge is a popular choice at the airport, it gets quite crowded during peak hours, so you might have to walk around a bit to find a seat. Toilets and showers are available (though there may be queues depending on the situation), making the journey more comfortable.

The dining area features a buffet, hot food area, and beverage bar. The overall environment is of medium size, with warm lighting and diverse seating options: single seats, multi-person tables, and seating near the windows against the wall. Some locations have power outlets, which are very convenient for charging devices and handling travel-related matters. However, the dining area can get a bit crowded when it's busy, especially the seats near the food area.

The VIP lounge offers a mix of buffet and à la carte options:
✔ Hot Main Dishes — There are à la carte hot dishes such as fried rice, braised pork rice, or noodle soup. Some guests found the main dishes tasty and reasonably sized.
✔ Cold and Light Dishes — Salads, desserts, and light snacks are available for free, perfect for pairing with drinks.
✔ Drinks — The beverage bar offers non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, tea, and a selection of beer and wine.
Overall, the food was rated as average by most guests: some felt the selection wasn't very extensive and the quality was just average, but others commented that some main dishes were quite delicious, especially Taiwanese or local specialties.

Overall, Plaza Premium Lounge is a suitable lounge option for resting, recharging, and relaxing:

If you are a Priority Pass or have access to lounges by credit card, Plaza Premium Lounge offers a practical and worthwhile experience, especially providing a more comfortable resting space than regular departure areas during long layovers. If you prefer higher-end dining quality or a completely quiet environment, you can compare it with other lounges in the airport before making a choice.
