Reviews: Kyoto's Seaside Day Tour: Amanohashidate & Ine Funaya
Guest User2025-10-04
We joined a one-day tour from Kyoto, departing from Kyoto Station at 9:40 AM and returning around 6 PM. The day was incredibly fulfilling. The waters of Amanohashidate were crystal clear, and the Ine Boathouse was ancient and unique. Our tour guide, Cui Haihua, spoke both Chinese and Korean, and provided detailed explanations. The itinerary was well-organized, and the guides made the trip relaxing and enjoyable. Highlights: The cable car and boat ride are a must-try; it's a worthwhile experience.

🌳 3 Must-Do Things at Amanohashidate 1️⃣ Climb to the top of "Umbrella Pine Park" for a bird's-eye view of the sandbar → Take the cable car to the top (round trip ¥720), and take a "reverse Fuji" composition from the viewpoint overlooking the sea. → Hidden spot: The west side of the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a stunning view of the sandbar and the Aso Sea side-by-side! 2️⃣ Walk barefoot on the "Natural White Sand Beach" → Take off your shoes and walk on 2km of pure white sand. The seawater washing over your ankles at high tide is incredibly soothing. → Rent a bicycle (¥500/hour) and chase seagulls along the sandbar, feeling the shape of the wind. 3️⃣ Visit "Chieunji Temple" for amulets → Vermilion torii gates paired with century-old pine trees; seek amulets for academic success/marriage (from ¥800). → Touch the "Manjushri Wisdom Wheel" and spin it three times; legend says it will make you smarter!

Yesterday's day trip arrangement was very reasonable. Egan's boat house was very beautiful. It was very happy to take a cruise to feed the seagulls. The scenery of the overpass was especially spectacular. It was also very interesting to take the small cable car. Finally, I went to Meishan Village and it was a very beautiful village. The time was a bit tight. The tour guide Wu Kevin was friendly. The professional and technical skills of the driver have won us more time to play.
Reviews: Kyoto Amanohashidate + Ine Funaya 1-day Tour [Small Group of 9 + Optional Guide]
Guest User2025-08-27
This time, because my schedule to Kyoto was tight and I really didn't want to go out on my own, I signed up for a one-day tour group. I was very hesitant before coming to Amanohashidate because the pictures looked average. But after our super awesome tour leader, Lingzhi, introduced us, I noticed a lot of interesting little places. She explained patiently throughout the trip and paid attention to the needs of everyone in our group. She even took pictures of us. She was like an angel. I've been to tours from other travel agencies before, but they didn't have any interpretation services. This trip was a five-star rating! The driver also drove very steadily, and we were so lucky that there was no traffic jam on Saturday both ways! I still recommend this place to everyone! There is a bathing beach, so remember to go down and play in the water. But I think it would be much cooler if you go in September or October.

Having visited Kyoto three times and having explored all the popular attractions, I decided to try a lesser-known route this time. The tour guide was quite helpful, speaking three languages (Japanese, Chinese, and English), catering to the language needs of everyone in our group. The view from Amanohashidate was stunning, and the chairlift was a pleasant surprise, especially the panoramic view from the descent. It was truly unique.
Reviews: Kyoto by the Sea: Amanohashidate + Ine no Funaya + Chionji Temple Day Tour [From Osaka • Amanohashidate • Kaisen Bridge • Ine no Funaya • Chionji Temple ]

The guide was friendly and, above all, I was very satisfied with the ample free time given. It is difficult to get to the area using public transportation, so it was very nice to be able to travel conveniently by bus.
