6-Day Gondar, Bahir Dar & Simien Mountains Tour

Day 1: Addis Ababa City Tour
Begin your tour in Addis Ababa with a visit to Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa. Continue to Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sellase), known for its beautiful architecture. End the day on Entoto Hill, enjoying panoramic city views and learning about the origins of Addis Ababa. Overnight in Addis.


Day 2: Fly Addis Ababa → Bahir Dar & Visit Monasteries
Fly to Bahir Dar in the morning. Take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit ancient island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mehret, famous for colorful murals and historic relics. Return to Bahir Dar for a relaxing evening by the lakeshore.


Day 3: Bahir Dar – Chis Abay (Blue Nile Source)
Drive to the source of the Blue Nile, known as Chis Abay. Explore the riverbank, enjoy beautiful viewpoints, and learn about the cultural importance of the river. Afternoon at leisure for a lakeside walk or optional city exploration.


Day 4: Drive to Gondar & Afternoon Castle Visit
Travel from Bahir Dar to Gondar through scenic highlands and Amhara villages. In the afternoon, visit the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), home to impressive medieval castles and palaces—Gondar’s highlight and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Evening free in Gondar.

Day 5: Full Day Simien Mountains National Park
Take a full-day excursion to the Simien Mountains. Drive to Debark for registration, then continue into the national park. Enjoy a scenic hike from Sankaber with stunning escarpments, deep valleys, and highland views. Spot Gelada baboons grazing on the cliffs and enjoy lunch in nature. Return to Gondar in the evening.

Day 6: Fly Back to Addis Ababa & Farewell Dinner
Fly from Gondar to Addis Ababa. Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner with cultural dance performances. Transfer to hotel or airport. End of tour.
