Reviews: Port Elizabeth: Addo Park Safari – Shore Excursion + Pickup

Initially, we were a little disappointed compared to the surrounding vehicles, as it was an enclosed minibus. But in retrospect, this proved to be a great advantage. It was compact, comfortable, and we even had empty seats, so there was plenty of room. Our driver, Gerry, was simply fantastic and took his time and effort with us. He had many stories to tell and was able to impress us with his expertise on all the animals. Thankfully, it wasn't as dusty as it would have been in an open vehicle. All in all, the trip was worthwhile and provided a lot of enjoyment and many wonderful photos and impressions.

We had the best tour ever. It started a little bumpy: the driver was 10 minutes late for pickup. However, the drive itself was very pleasant. Once we arrived at the park, we met Tawanda: he's incredibly nice, was great with our 5-year-old son, and knows the place like the back of his hand, having worked as a tour guide for 15 years (!). At first, we were a bit surprised by the small private car we were traveling in. But it turned out to be a huge advantage: we could take any road we wanted and even make a few detours. Tawanda really knows all the best spots for close-up animal viewing. One elephant was so close to our car we could have touched it. The tour was so good that we immediately booked him for another day trip in Cape Town. Tawanda is incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and a fantastic storyteller. If we ever return to South Africa, we'll definitely contact him again.
