Itinerary
Your English-speaking guide will meet the group near the Church of St. Peter and Paul and accompany you throughout the entire route. Each participant receives an audio guide and headphones in their chosen language (Bulgarian, English, Russian, Spanish, Italian, French, or German). The guide will give a brief instruction on how to use the devices and will hold up a numbered sign at each stop — you simply enter the number to hear the relevant story in your language.

The tour covers over 20 historical and cultural sites, including:

Tsarevets Fortress, with its royal palace, Patriarchal church, and Baldwin’s Tower

The Royal Mausoleum, where Tsar Kaloyan and members of the royal family are buried

Samovodska Charshiya, the historic Artisan Street with active workshops preserving centuries-old crafts like copperwork and royal sgraffito pottery

As you explore, you’ll walk at your own pace, take photos, enter churches and museums, and enjoy detailed commentary through your audio guide. You’ll also hear authentic music from the region and unique cultural insights recorded with the support of the Veliko Tarnovo museum archives.

The tour ends at the Mother Bulgaria monument, near the city’s charming shopping street, where you can relax, enjoy local cuisine, and buy handcrafted souvenirs.

This experience is ideal for history lovers and curious travelers who want to immerse themselves in Bulgaria’s rich past with comfort, flexibility, and professional storytelling.
