Old Louisville: The Glitter Ball City Walking Tour w/ Author

In 2013, the details of a scandalous crime gripped the Derby City as locals awaited the verdicts in what many had dubbed the "trial of he said, he said" or the "pink triangle murder." In the courtroom every day was David Dominé, a local writer and tour guide who had almost purchased the rambling mansion where police would find the body of Jamie Carroll just two years later. The 37-year-old had been buried in the dirt floor of the wine cellar.

After more than a decade of research and sleuthing, A DARK ROOM IN GLITTER BALL CITY hit the shelves, receiving acclaim from publications such as The New York Times and drawing attention to a quirky, bohemian neighborhood known as Old Louisville. As a result, throngs of visitors started flocking our way to check out the sites featured in the true-crime memoir, which reviewers have referred to as "the next Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

This narrated jaunt through the colorful Victorian historic preservation district at the heart of the story provides the perfect opportunity for fans to spend time with the author while learning about his writing process and inspirations. In addition, participants get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the trials of accused killers Jeffrey Mundt and Joey Banis as they see the landmarks and points of interest featured in the book up close and personal.

Included in this backstory adventure are a visit inside the stunning Conrad-Caldwell Mansion, as well a welcome cocktail and souvenirs. Each participant also receives an autographed, personalized copy of the book, in addition to a sweet treat.
