Once again, another amazing tour by Naxos Cultural Tours, led by Labrina. She was quite passionate about her job and telling us about the wine, culture and sights around the town. We also got a chance to do an extra olive oil tasting, and once again, the lady who did the tasting was so passionate about the choices of olive oil that are made on the island. I would highly recommend this tour, and if you get Labrina, you would be so lucky.

It was a lovely day out with a bit of history about the farm and the local farming practices used on the island, such as collecting eggs and exploring the vineyards and farming areas around the farm, learning about the olive trees, and the vineyard trees fo different fruits that we got to sample some of the grapes and pomegranate that were growing strongly. We had a traditional Naxian meal after the lovely walk through the farm, having the group we were with process the ingredients and chat and enjoy the family hospitality. We loved the meal we had and enjoyed the time we spent there. The trip was just over 4 hours, and it flew by. The hosts sent over the recipes for us to try at home after the day, which we plan to make soon.

Reviews: Naxos: Naxos Town Food Tour with Tastings and Wine

I cannot rave enough about this tour. First of all, I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour for the evening. Secondly, I had an amazing tour guide, Liana, and despite her young age, she knew so much about the food, culture, mythology etc. Our first stop was a wine lounge called Hurmas. The gentleman serving the wine, Nico, was quite knowledgeable - the wine and tapas selection was excellent, and the pours were generous. Next stop was the restaurant, with an abundance of traditional Naxian food. The restaurant is a family run business, and it shows the care that they put into the food and restaurant. The staff at that restaurant were quite hard working. I was quite stuffed from all the food. The last stop was the Kitron tasting - definitely unique. Overall, the Naxos Cultural Tour company put on a great tour, and I actually booked 4 tours with them. If you want to experience the food and wine that is indigenous to Naxos, this is the tour to do. Liana was just the best!

The second of our fantastic tours through this provider, and just as wonderful as the first (which was the private half day tour of the island). This was a walking tour with extensive history and sightseeing around Naxos old town and the Venetian castle. Dinner was at one of the most highly recommended and quaint restaurants on the island. George, our tour guide, shared his extensive knowledge of the area, and provided a selection of local food that we all loved. It was a wonderful evening and one we hold fond memories of. Can’t thank our guide enough for the experiences we had.

Truly an amazing experience! Our host was kind and knowledgeable. We toured the garden, saw the animals, and cooked delicious foods!
