Your adventure begins at our office, where we’ll equip you with life jackets, dry bags and binoculars. Your experienced local guide will then lead you to the kayaks and provide tips for a safe and enjoyable journey.
As you quietly move through the water, you’ll have the opportunity to observe Tortuguero’s incredibly wildlife from a unique vintage point. Along the way, you’ll learn fascinating facts about the flora and fauna of Tortuguero, as well as the rich history of the National Park. Keep an eye out for caimans, freshwater turtles, monkeys, and an array of colorful birds. Early mornings offer the best chance to see animals as they start their day before retreating from the midday sun. As you paddle deeper into the water, you’ll be surrounded by lush rainforest vegetation, and might hear the distant calls of howler monkeys or the gentle rustle of leaves.
As you navigate the winding canals, there will be moments to pause and observe the serene surroundings, allowing for stunning photo opportunities. At various points, your guile will stop to explain the unique ecosystem that exist in Tortuguero and the importance of the park’s conservation efforts, local culture and history.
As they tour comes to an end, you’ll return to our office, located in the heart of Tortuguero.
