Embark on a Mesmerizing Journey: Blue Cave & Pakleni Islands Group Excursion
Departure from Hvar
Begin your adventure from the picturesque town of Hvar. As the morning sun rises, your comfortable speedboat awaits at the harbor. Meet your friendly local skipper and fellow travelers, and get ready for a full-day journey across the sparkling Adriatic Sea.
First Stop: The Green Cave
After a scenic 35-minute cruise, arrive at the Green Cave, located on a small islet near Vis Island. Named for the magical green light created by sunlight reflecting through the water and algae, the cave is perfect for swimming or snorkeling. Depending on conditions, you can either swim inside or enter with a small official boat operated by the Port Authority. Don’t forget your camera — the light show inside is truly one of a kind.
Next Stop: Stiniva Bay
Cruise to Stiniva Bay, one of Europe’s most beautiful beaches, encircled by towering cliffs and accessible only by swimming or a small tender. Enjoy about an hour here to swim, sunbathe, or grab a drink at the cozy beach bar. The pebbled shore and turquoise waters make this a truly unforgettable stop.
The Highlight: Blue Cave
A short ride later, you’ll arrive at the tour’s highlight — the Blue Cave on Biševo Island. Your skipper will help with tickets and timing, while you wait your turn at a nearby shaded bar. You’ll enter the cave on a small motorboat managed by local authorities. Inside, marvel at the vibrant blue glow, created by sunlight passing through an underwater opening. This natural light show offers a calm, almost otherworldly experience.
Personalized Optional Stop
After the Blue Cave, the itinerary becomes flexible based on sea conditions, group preferences, and time. Optional stops may include:
Budikovac Island (Green Lagoon) for swimming
Seal Monk’s Cave
Stončica Beach
WWII Military Submarine Tunnel
Pakleni islands
The charming towns of Komiža or Vis for a cultural and local experience
Your skipper will recommend the best option on the day to ensure the most enjoyable route.
Final Stop: Palmizana Bay, Pakleni Islands
End your day at Palmizana Bay, the most famous and only sandy beach on the Pakleni Islands. Relax on one of the three sandy coves, sip cocktails at Laganini Beach Bar, or enjoy lunch at one of three popular seaside restaurants. You can also take a stroll through the nearby botanical garden or simply unwind by the sea.
Please note: Before June and after September, the tour may be slightly shorter due to earlier sunset times, but with fewer crowds and less boat traffic, you’ll have more time to enjoy each stop in peace and still visit all the planned locations at a relaxed pace.
Around 6 PM, cruise back to Hvar as the sunset paints the sky with hues of gold and red.
