A wonderful experience immersing ourselves in Downton Abbey with a passionate guide (Andrew)... the only downside is that we couldn't photograph the inside of the castle.

From the very start the trip was great. It is VERY easy to get the start point. Our guide Jed made sure everyone was there and told us what was going to happen. We even had the first Downton episode to watch on TV as we travelled to Brampton for our first stop. Brampton is where some of the scenes were shot. It was amazing to see the places you felt you knew so well and actually be there!!! Then it was on to Highclere itself. Such an amazing place. It did not disappoint in any way. The rooms are even more spectacular in real life. It felt very special to walk in the footsteps of the actors. Then it was home with another episode and a quiz to make sure we had taken it all in !! I have to say yes a long day but a very special one I would advise any fan to try to do. Loved it all.

Overall it is definitely not cheap, but you can travel on trains around Europe as many times as you want during the period, flexible and convenient, especially for last minute travelers. Keep in mind in countries like Spain, Italy and France, the reservation fee is expensive and can add up quickly, so you need to plan ahead. Also, in most countries, the app cannot be used in the tickets gates automatically, and must seek help from staff. Hope they can improve it.

We followed the Trip.com guide and have a smooth and interesting hop on hop off Big Bus experience. We first enjoyed the Red Route at Paddington Station stop, and joined Blue Route later on. Definitely a joyful day for a family of 5 with 3 children.


