Watching the northern lights was a magical experience. Green lights slowly danced across the dark Arctic sky, moving like waves of energy. In the freezing night, everything became silent and still. Standing under the glowing sky, I felt small but deeply grateful to witness such a rare and beautiful moment.

They did a great job with transportation and Aurora hunting. Friendly, fun guides and we saw some pretty good lights! Forest lagoon is my new favorite in Iceland. Easy, beautiful, drinks were good, food too!

our guide Sieggy, was great! a native of Akureyri and gave us lots of local info. the Forest Lagoon was so relaxing and we had plenty of time to spend there. we also got the option of being taken back to the ship or let off in town to explore. we explored and walked back to the ship (about 10 mins). Beautiful area, really enjoyed it.

The waterfall was absolutely stunning. We had plenty of time there to see all we wanted to and take some great pictures. The Laufás houses were super interesting as well. The Christmas house was cute and although we didn’t have any interest in shopping, there was plenty to look at. Our guide shared some great information and stories.

Wonderful excursion from Akureyri! Easy pick up from the port, friendly bus drivers, along with a stunning but reasonable drive to the harbor for the whale watching. Once we got to the harbor, we were provided with waterproof suits that also functioned as floating devices. I had worried about “will I be cold” but I was not and so glad they provided them. There were also clean WC facilities and nice selection of souvenirs, several made by people in Hauganes. The team on a boat was fantastic. We were relatively lucky and saw many humpback whales while we were there. On the return, we were given doughnuts and hot chocolate (or coffee). Overall an amazing experience with friendly and knowledgeable people. Highly recommend!


