It is beautiful to cycle in the mountains of Madeira. The tour is fun for anyone who can ride a bike. You are taken up by van and the ride is mostly on flat paths. Lots of beautiful nature and Fabio the tour guide is amazing. Along the way, a stop at a small restaurant for a local delicacy. The descent kilometers down is so much fun! Very nice mountain bikes for the sometimes wet paths. All praise to the very friendly and helpful Lokoloko team. Make sure to bring a windbreaker or raincoat.

Hugo picked us up at our Airbnb and was lively even at 6am. We got to the peak by car, and although the road was very foggy and with lots of curves, we felt very safe with his tranquility. He told us lots of facts about Madeira along the way and when we got to the peak, thankfully we got to see some sun, in better weather the views are amazing. We saw other viewpoints and got to see the East which we had not gone to. Overall hreat tour

We were taken to our start point and provided with the bikes and enough tuition to make them go. We had limited experience of e-bikes and Rosie was very reassuring. The trip was nicely planned, making our way from the relative isolation of Ponta Sao Laurenco to “downtown” Funchal, where Rosie was, again, on hand. Thanks to Rosie for her expertise (and flexibility), in making our bike ride go so smoothly.

Unfortunately, we couldn't take the eastern tour as planned due to strong winds, but the guide, sensing my disappointment at the change of plans, was simply fantastic. We talked the entire trip, and she explained perfectly everything we saw along the coast and all the types of whales and dolphins that live in these waters and are often spotted. She's clearly very knowledgeable and well-prepared, and she speaks perfect English, which isn't a given on the island. The boat is clean and nice, and the captain is very good at keeping the seas smooth. If I may offer one piece of advice, I'd suggest making more than one stop for swimming.


