It was a very fun and informative day. I really liked the mix of guided tour and free time. Fjona (our tour guide) was so kind and knowledgeable. I really liked how she gave us information on not just what we were here to see but also about Albania as a country (economy, culture, history). She was happy to answer any questions I had. The castle and Berat were beautiful places to see. I recommend this day trip.★

For me I was given too much detailed history of the country before we even walked anywhere. It was a lot to process all in one go. The tour got more interesting as we visited parts of the city. It was a shame that we were taken to eg. St Paul’s cathedral and couldn’t get inside due to the 6pm mass. Timing of tour should be better. Or leave it out. Listening to the tour guides own mother’s experience of how being ruled under communism affected her daily life was fascinating. I much prefer to hear this type of information as I probably wouldn’t find this on the internet or in a book.★
