Our guide David is an amazing person. He's French, but he also speaks Spanish and English like a native. He even offered glögi with cookies and licorice as a snack, followed by a delicious mushroom soup with bread. He made this activity one of the highlights of our trip to Helsinki. All four saunas were open for use while we visited, and they were all incredible experiences. They each had their own character, so it was really cool to experience the differences between them. We went in the winter, so dipping into the Baltic Sea and rubbing snow on yourself on the way between saunas was exhilarating. Truly an unforgettable time. Getting drinks at the bar afterwards was a nice cap to it all.★

Reviews: National Park Hike & Finnish Smoke Sauna Experience with Campfire Lunch

The grey, rainy day did not dampen the adventurous spirit of our group of eight from four different continents. Sturdy raincoats were available for all. Our hike through the forest identifying and gathering mushrooms was both delightful and informative. Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and all the various mushrooms. Jeff actually cooked the mushrooms we gathered along with a hearty lunch. The sun broke through as we hiked back for the smoke sauna. The sauna was outrageously hot and the lake plunge outrageously cold but to our surprise absolutely exhilarating! We are in our 70’s and found the "National Park Hike & Finnish Smoke Sauna Experience with Campfire Lunch" extraordinary! Thank you Jeff and Kiia, Carpe Diem!
