We were very fortunate to see the beautiful scenery of Tianchi Lake, which was truly magnificent. Because it was the off-season, there were very few tourists, which was great. Moreover, there were only four tourists in our booked North Slope day trip, so we were lucky enough to use a Buick minivan. The guide and driver were very helpful. The flight delays were incredibly frustrating, and I hope Ctrip can provide more assistance in this regard. Due to heavy rain in Changbai Mountain on the way there, we had to stay overnight in Changchun, and they refunded the cost of the first night's accommodation, which was excellent.

Fortunately there were only 3 like minded people on the tour. This meant we could be selective on our stops and timings. we still saw everything on the tour but arrived a lot earlier than expected into Queenstown. Everyone was less tired and it made for an enjoyable trip despite the length of time travelling.

Hanna was a wonderfully enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personable guide for our day trip to Franz Josef! She expertly paced our day so we could take in all the dynamic and stunning sights along the way: lakes, mountains, forests, beaches, waterfalls, and glaciers! Hanna did this all while safely driving and traversing the roads. She made a long day feel so memorable and worthwhile with her easygoing nature, extensive knowledge of New Zealand and deep respect for the Māori people and culture. Thank you Hanna!


