This half day tour is a great and convenient way to visit Hallstat. It is of course more expensive than taking the train or public bus+ferry to get to Hallstat, but it is certainly a time-saver. It's essentially a direct bus trip to Hallstat with a bit of commentary of interesting places that we passed and some history. Once you reached Hallstat, you will go around on your own for about 2.5 hours and the bus will come to pick up at a certain time. The 1.5 hours ride is comfortable and there's a power point at your seat if you need to charge your phone.

Hallstatt is beautiful and I’d recommend sitting on the row behind the driver for the best views of lakes!

Highly recommended. The bus was comfortable, the guide was fantastic, and the water with cookies and the postcard were a nice touch.
