Reviews: Fukuoka Seafood Market & Local Flavors Day Tour with Dazaifu (English/Korean Guide)
Guest User2026-03-27
Our Korean tour guide and driver, Taegwon Bae, was handsome and explained everything very clearly! Although he's Korean, he speaks fluent English, is punctual for pick-up and drop-off, and has excellent driving skills. This trip also provided a unique glimpse into local life, making it a truly enjoyable experience. ☺️
Reviews: 1-day tour to Moji Port, Karato Fish Market, and Miyajidake Shrine/Kawachi Fujien Garden in Kitakyushu, Japan

The weather was hot, so I opted for a day tour. With plenty of time, I visited the Railway Museum, took a boat to Karato Market for sashimi, and went to the former British Consulate. Finally, I visited a shrine—I've forgotten the name—that was very unique.

The electronic 3-day pass allows you to choose any 3 days out of 5, whereas the paper pass only allows 3 consecutive days. The electronic version offers more flexibility, and it's very convenient if you have a data SIM card on your phone. This trip started from Hakata Station and ended directly back at Fukuoka Airport, without backtracking. I used the SUNQPASS Kitakyushu 3-day pass throughout the trip, using it on days 2, 3, and 5. Transportation costs on arrival days were my responsibility, and I booked a day tour on day 4. The pass allows free rides on highway buses, local buses, and designated ferries. Upon arriving at Fukuoka Airport on day 1, I went to the counter to exchange my reservation for physical tickets. The staff will ask to see the electronic pass I purchased, but it doesn't need to be activated. When boarding the highway bus, you need both the physical ticket and the activation ticket for that day shown on your mobile phone. For local buses, you go up from the back door to get a numbered ticket. When you get off at your stop, show the driver the activated ticket for that day, and drop the numbered ticket into the bin. The high-speed ferry from Shimabara to Kumamoto also accepts a pass. Show it to the staff at the ticket counter, and they'll give you a handwritten ticket. Just hand it to the staff when boarding. Our trip covered our costs, but wasn't much cheaper. However, it was so convenient because you don't need to pay with coins when getting on and off; they just count out 10/50/100 yen coins there.
Reviews: 1-day tour along the Kitakyushu coastline: Mount Sarakura night view + Motonosumi Shrine + Mojiko Port/Karato Market

The tour looked good, so I applied for an English and Chinese guide, and it was great because they took care of each person individually and explained everything I didn't understand!
Reviews: Northern Kyushu Wisteria Festival | 1-day tour to Kawachi Fujien: Moji Port, Kokura Castle, Karato Fish Market

This was fantastic! I highly recommend this trip during wisteria season. The Hanoi Wisteria Garden is inconvenient to reach by public transport; without a taxi or car, it's a long walk. Joining a day tour saves time and avoids the queues at the garden. The meeting point is very easy to find and very conspicuous. Because it gets incredibly crowded at that time, the staff are all in uniform and lead different groups, so you need to proactively ask which route you're on. The night before departure, they will contact you via WeChat with the tour leader's name and bus license plate number. On the bus, the tour leader will explain the estimated time needed for each destination's attractions and food, allowing you to plan your time accordingly. The Hanoi Wisteria Garden is so beautiful, you absolutely must go! The seafood at the Tanghu Market was fresh, sweet, and plentiful.
