I bought it online while on the train from Odawara to Osaka. At the station, I found an office and got a printed ticket. I then used it to travel to Hiroshima, which is very convenient. I also used it to visit Miyajima, then Kyoto, and several surrounding cities.

Very good pass and we went to couples new places by using this JR pass from Hiroshima to Hakata. We took JR train, Shinkansen and even boat.

I booked the tour alone, which meant I had a great time chatting with my very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly guide. In short, after just over a week of traveling in Japan, this was definitely the highlight of my trip. Highly recommended for anyone with even a passing interest in warships. A fantastic tour.

If you buy it here, you can exchange it for a paper ticket at the counter. Since you have to go through the ticket gate, you can't use it on the Shinkansen within Hiroshima city. It was an incredible deal as it allowed unlimited rides on Miyajima ferries, Hiroshima Electric Railway, and buses! It also included a discount on admission fees and sweets, so it was well worth it. There was also a discount for the Peace Museum. I think a paper ticket would have been better as you don't have to bring up the screen every time like with an electronic ticket.


