Reviews: Riviera Col du Pillon & Glacier 3000 from Lausanne

Aside from the initial anxiety of not being able to wait for the bus, the tour was quite a journey. The instructions said to arrive at 8:55, but the bus didn't arrive until 9:22. It was a large bus that could carry 40 people. It was a weekday, and today, Friday, there were about 26 people. This tour wasn't cheap, so you should check the weather beforehand before signing up. The whole trip was a great experience! You need to buy a cable car ticket to see the beautiful scenery. Babis was a funny driver, but my English wasn't good enough, so I couldn't understand his jokes. However, it was fine as long as the meeting time was confirmed. We stopped at Glacier 3000 for about 3 hours, and Babis brought a large pot of hot cinnamon wine and hot tea for everyone to drink. Then we drove for an hour to Montreux, stopped for about an hour (to explore the Christmas market on your own), and then drove for another 30 minutes to Lausanne.

Fantastic Day! It was snowing the morning of, so our tour guide / bus driver Roger picked us up at the train station exit so we were able to stay undercover. Bus was comfortable for our family of three (2 x adults 1 x teenager) and Roger was a great driver as we were all able to have a quick snooze. We were taken to the base of the three cable cars where Roger gave us tickets to get to the top (and return) then we were left to explore ourselves. The cable cars were amazing and the views outstanding. Revolving Restaurant, James Bond Museum and Gift shop were all fantastic. The all you can eat buffet was awesome, there were individual menu items if you prefer. We met Roger at the base at 3pm and then taken to Interlaken for a bit of shopping and sightseeing. So many watch stores, all worth a look. I purchased a Swiss watch at a great price! We were back in Lausanne around 6:30 - 6:45pm. Would love to have stayed in Interlaken longer but not enough hours in the day. Great stories Roger!
