The crew were very attentive. The food was plentiful and lovely. Grey's singing and storytelling were a welcome distraction from my rising seasickness. Travel tablets are sold on board. We were very happy to use the (free) storage facility for valuables. From the glass bottomed boat we were delighted to see a reef shark and some small turtles! The coral was not very vibrant but there were plenty tropical fish and small clams on the coral. The lifeguard kept a close eye on everyone's safety when snorkeling and also ensured we kept away from above the reef when the water was shallow. The snorkel equipment was provided and in good condition.

Reviews: Calypso Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise from Port Douglas

We had THE BEST DAY on our Family Calypso Reef Snorkelling Cruise (from Port Douglas). The crew onboard Calypso Blue on Thursday 20/6/2024 were amazing, so professional and so friendly. They made us feel very welcomed and put those that were nervous at ease, re-assuring everyone that they are there to look after us. Food and snacks were nice and simple. We chose to go with Calypso as it came highly recommended on the web (through reviews) plus a big draw card for us was that they only took a small group of people on board the tour at anyone time. It was a whole day cruise, where we stopped at 3 different locations on the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel. It took about an hour to get to the reef. Each different stop on the reef was about an hour. It was so beautiful and so special for us as a family to finally experience the Great Barrier Reef. There were so many beautiful corals, so many colourful fish and in all shapes and sizes. The ocean was so clear too. The staff on Calypso Blue were very knowledgeable and educated us on the reef and how we can do our part to help look after it. We had the BEST DAY and will remember it for a long, long time. A big thank you to the crew on Calypso Blue for making it happen.

Amazing snorkelling experience with great crew who we're enthusiastic and helpful. So tranquil sailing there. A must do to see an awesome undersea world. Buffet was sumptuous and plentiful. The sail back was exciting as we had a swell.
