Our ground transportation arrangements were in place, thanks to an acquaintance who assured us we were in good hands. Little did we know that these words would resonate so profoundly. We met Jose L. Velarde of Mazatlán Van Tours (mazatlanvantours.com)—a tour guide extraordinaire who would redefine our travel experience. Our first encounter unfolded at the airport, where he stood, a beacon of hospitality, holding a sign with our names. His smile was genuine, his demeanor warm.
