The entire trip was relaxing, with no shopping stops or extra expenses. I have two suggestions: First, while traveling, many tourists want to buy some local specialties. Current regulations even prohibit recommendations for tourist spots; tourists have to find them themselves, which seems inhumane. Shopping should be voluntary; tourists should be allowed to go if they want, and not go if they don't. There should be no coercion or boycotts. Second, for elderly travelers who may not speak English well, the tour guide could provide appropriate assistance, such as providing small notes, to make their free time more comfortable.★

The last row. Not even a glass of water. A bottle of Nongfu Spring mineral water costs 6 yuan; I suggest bringing your own food and drinks. It's mostly old jokes.★

I discovered this service through Google while searching for the JR pass for Kyushu. It was very quick to apply, and you can pay with tripcorns. I received a confirmation email from JR immediately after applying. To redeem my ticket, I showed the email with the QR code from my phone at the Kagoshima Station ticket counter and received my pass. I also booked my train tickets right away, so everything worked!★

Our guide Haruka both met us and dropped us off directly at the cruise terminal. She seemed a bit nervous at first later admitting that this was the first time she was conducting this tour on her own. She need not have been nervous as it was obvious that she was very well prepared and knowledgeable. Her personal and caring touch especially in being attentive to some mobility issues my wife had was priceless. We crossed paths with some large group tours which I could not imagine being a part of considering the enriching experience she provided as a personal guide. Be prepared though for the stark realities and sobering experience that is the atomic bomb site
