Reviews: Iceland South Coast 1-day tour: Waterfalls, Glaciers, and Black Sand Beaches|Optional small group tour or sky hot spring

The tour guide plans the itinerary according to the weather. When it looked like it would rain, he told us to go to other attractions first, and the waterfall would be last, so we only got a little rain (the original itinerary would have left us soaked until the end). Along the way, the guide told us stories about Iceland, introduced the attractions, and reminded us of important things to note – he was incredibly kind! It was a wonderful experience! (I chose the English version!)
Reviews: Sólheimajökull: Glacier Hike & Ice Climbing Intro
Guest User2026-03-15
This was our first experience with Ice Climbing and it was amazing. The trip started out with a large waterfall and some steps to the top, the views were really nice and a good way to start the day off. We then got dropped off for the glacier hike and ice climbing, got kitted out with helmets, harness, ice picks, shoes and crampons and started our journey. Our guide was extremely good, providing us with safety tips, and information about ever changing nature of the pathways we were taking and made sure that we were safe every step of the way by checking how solid the ground. Once we reached a decent point we began our ice climbing lesson, starting off easier with a slightly angled wall before making our way into a deep crevasse. It was hard work at times but it was an incredible experience and we felt safe through every part of it. If you like a bit of adventure this it the trip for you.
