Things to do in Guang'an

The scenery is beautiful, with uniquely shaped peaks and rocks arranged in a charming, orderly fashion. It's cool in the summer, has campsites, and is associated with the legendary story of the Twin Bridges Old Woman. It's a great place for guerrilla warfare and definitely worth a visit. I would definitely go again if I had the chance. The cave in particular is truly amazing. Baoding Mountain is highly recommended.

Deng Xiaoping's hometown is worth a visit. It's a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a national patriotic education base. Here, you can gain a deeper understanding of Deng Xiaoping's life and deeds, experience the great man's charisma, and be enlightened by his thoughts. Highlights include: - Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence: Also known as the "Deng Family Old Courtyard," this traditional three-sided courtyard house embodies the rich charm of eastern Sichuan. Deng Xiaoping was born here and spent 15 years there. The house still preserves the wooden bed he slept on as a child, the oil lamp he used for reading and writing, and items such as paper, pens, and inkstones. - Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence Exhibition Hall: This is the only exhibition hall in China dedicated to the glorious life of Deng Xiaoping. The exterior symbolizes Deng Xiaoping's revolutionary journey of "three falls and three rises." The hall is divided into five sections, including "Leaving Guang'an" and "Military Career," which comprehensively showcase Deng Xiaoping's life through cultural relics, videos, and photographs.  - Deng Xiaoping Memorial Hall: Architecturally styled after traditional folk houses, it embodies the concept of returning to one's roots. The hall displays artifacts and relics related to Deng Xiaoping, and recreates scenes from his life and work, focusing on showcasing the great man's spiritual world and later life.   - Deng Xiaoping Statue Square: Spanning 26 mu (approximately 1.5 acres) and surrounded by mountains on three sides, it resembles a chair. Standing in the center of a 5-mu (approximately 1.5-acre) lawn, the statue faces south and stands north. Visitors can hold solemn flower-laying ceremonies here to commemorate the great man. - Other Historical Sites: The scenic area also includes numerous relics, including the Hanlin Courtyard, the Silkworm House Courtyard, the Deng Family Old Well, the Cattle Herding Yard, the Qingshui Pond, the Shinto Monument, and the Dezheng Archway, showcasing Deng Xiaoping's activities during his youth.

There are 60 caves of various sizes in the scenic area, and 120 waterfalls of different shapes, such as the majestic Whisk Waterfall, the spectacular Welcoming Waterfall, the beautiful Moon-Watching Waterfall, etc. Every step brings a new scene, which will keep tourists dazzled.

It's worth taking kids to see it. Besides the waterfall, there are many facilities for children to play on, but the facilities are not very well maintained, and some rides are no longer available, probably because there are too few people and they've been abandoned. When we went to the waterfall, the water had a slightly fishy smell, probably due to too much algae. There's also a wire-suspended flying ride, but we didn't dare to go on it.

Also known as Shenlongshan Ba ​​People's Stone City, it is located in Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. Originally named Shelongshan, it covers an area of ​​over 200 hectares and has an altitude of 81 meters, making it the highest point in the city. It was originally a vital passageway between Sichuan and Chongqing. The site features stone-built border defenses. Now it is primarily for tourists.

Baozhen Fortress was built in 1911 by the Duan family to avoid bandits, nestled against the mountainside. It is a 4A scenic area. Combining defense and residential living, it is surrounded by stone walls and has an ingenious layout, making it a well-preserved ancient military fortress in eastern Sichuan.

Wuhua Mountain Tourist Area is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. It is located at the junction of Linshui County, Sichuan and Changshou, Chongqing, close to the Dayu-Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway, 110 kilometers away from Chongqing city, 50 kilometers away from Deng Xiaoping's hometown, and 33 kilometers away from Linshui County. According to legend, this was the place where Taishang Laojun preached. The scenic area covers an area of ​​15 square kilometers, with a beautiful ecological environment, green waters, green mountains, lush forests, quiet and cool all year round, and has always been a tourist and summer resort in Sichuan and Chongqing.

Lohas City has quaint Baguo-style buildings and the historic Wanchun Ancient Bridge. This small town hanging on the waterfall is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city... The scenic spot is located on the edge of the city. It takes about 20 minutes to get there by taxi from the South Station on the way to Xiaoping's hometown. The core of the scenic spot is by the river. The waterfall is spectacular, a bit like Furong Town. Under the lights at night, the scenery is beautiful.
