306 reviews
Alona Beach is a stretch of white sand beach extending nearly 1 km, flanked by low rocky cliffs at both ends and curving along the coast. The sand is white and fine, and the water near the shore is clear. With coral reefs distributed underwater, it is a popular spot for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts, where marine life such as corals, schools of tropical fish, and sea turtles can be observed. Departing from the beach by boat, you can head to nearby marine sanctuaries like Balicasag Island and Pamilacan Island for island hopping and scuba diving, or take a dolphin-watching tour. Daytime is suitable for walking on the beach and swimming, while the evening is a great time to watch the sunset. After dark, the restaurants and bars along the coast gradually become lively.Bohol Island · 24.5 km from Maribojoc

Tagbilaran City is a famous port city in the Philippines, and the island's airport is also located here. The name is composed of two words in the Visayan language, meaning "secret sanctuary", which has two meanings: first, Tagbilaran City is located in a calm and secret strait; second, it was once a refuge for locals to escape from Moro attackers. Today, the city is full of noisy three-wheeled taxis, and there is no peace and seclusion. Many of the Philippines' famous cathedrals are also located here. If you are interested in both water and land activities, use this very commercial city as your base camp.Tagbilaran · 11.4 km from Maribojoc

Loboc River
No. 1 of Best Things to Do in Sevilla

Loboc River

4.7
4.1/5
155 reviews
The green Loboc River flows quietly through Bohol Island, with dense vegetation covering both banks. Deep in the riverside jungles lies the habitat of various mysterious animals. Such pristine tropical scenery inevitably brings the Amazon River to mind, which is perhaps why it has earned the title of the "Amazon of the East." Cruising the river is widely considered the best way to experience the charm of the Loboc River. Drifting along the quiet waters, you can enjoy the tropical rainforest scenery while observing the unique traditional houses on both banks and feeling the authentic local culture. Perhaps as you pass by, beautiful local girls are playing guitars, singing, and dancing on bamboo platforms by the river, while a mischievous child sits in a tall coconut tree on the bank, waving at you. The end of the boat trip is an indigenous village, where you can go ashore to watch performances like archery, jumping through fire hoops, and fire-eating. Most people who come here participate in a Loboc River cruise, which lasts about 1 hour. The boat departs from Loay Bridge in the southwest of Bohol Island and travels upstream to Busay Falls in the center of the island; this sightseeing route is particularly popular with tourists. The boat offers a hearty and authentic Filipino meal, where you can taste local delicacies such as fresh grouper, squid, and shrimp. During the cruise, local singers will play guitars and sing classic English songs on board, which is quite relaxing.Sevilla · 22.1 km from Maribojoc

Chocolate Hills is located in the center of Bohol Island in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines and is one of the island's iconic natural views. This area features thousands of cone-shaped hills of similar form spread across a vast area; they vary in height and size, creating a unique, rolling view. It is primarily composed of ancient marine limestone, which has gradually formed the current karst landscape through long-term weathering, erosion, and dissolution. The surface of the hills is mostly covered with herbaceous vegetation, which appears a vibrant green during the rainy season; in the dry season, the grass gradually turns brown, and the hills take on a brownish hue, resembling chocolate scattered across the land, which is how it got its name.Bohol Island · 32.6 km from Maribojoc

This island tour is a must when visiting Bohol. You will visit several islands, one of which has a beautiful beach with fine sand. The sea water is very clear, cleaner than tap water, and you will pass by a marine market.

Loboc River Cruise is the best river cruise in the philippines. It's a complete package of entertainment, live music and dance and unlimited buffet foods to soothe both local and international tongue. 1000/10 although it got a bit pricey nowadays, I'd still recommend!

Beautiful island just a boat ride from Bohol. We had a snorkeling trip here and were spoilt with beautiful crystal clear water. We got to see turtles and beautiful marine life. The locals all work together to keep the island clean. Lunch was simple but good and there are ladies selling souvenirs. Overall a beautiful island to visit.Tips: Go early to avoid the crowdsReasons to Recommend: Snorkeling and diving
