lover Beach

Lover Beach is located in the Matrouh area on the Mediterranean coast of northwestern Egypt. Its original Arabic name, "Al-Gharam," means "love," and it is also commonly known as "Lover Beach," making it one of the famous vacation beaches on Egypt's north coast. It is one of the premier long, sandy beaches in Matrouh, featuring fine white sand and crystal-clear water. The seabed gradually deepens, allowing you to walk into the water for a swim, making it perfect for both family trips and couples. The origin of the beach's "lover" name has a cinematic flair: the 1950 Egyptian film of the same name was shot here. In the film, singer Laila Mourad sang while sitting on a large rock in the middle of the beach. This rock, known as "Laila's Rock," still stands on the shore today and has become a highly recognizable landmark. Walking along the long coastline in the evening to watch the sunset paint the sea golden red is a reason many tourists make a special trip here.

Ageeba Beach

Ageeba Beach is located in the Matrouh Governorate on the Mediterranean coast of northwestern Egypt, approx. 20 km west of the Mersa Matruh city center. "Ageeba" means "miracle" in Arabic, and this name is no exaggeration: the small bay is embraced by towering white limestone cliffs. The water inside the bay is crystal clear, and its hue shifts between turquoise and deep blue depending on the light and depth, making it a famous signature seascape in the Mersa Matruh area. The beach itself is not large, and you need to descend a long staircase carved into the cliff to reach the shore. The top of the cliff offers viewing spots where you can overlook the entire bay and the Mediterranean Sea, which is also a prime spot for taking photos. The sand on the beach is fine and soft, with reefs scattered near the shore, making it suitable for swimming and playing in the water. There are also hidden caves within the cliffs that you can explore, and many people enjoy walking along the trails on the cliff top to enjoy the scenery.
