The Dwarf Chalet is situated near the New Furano Prince Hotel in Nakagoryo, Furano. The wooden cabins are constructed in the forest and linked by the wooden corridor bridge. There is also a connection of small lights that decorate the cabins. There are a diversity of small crafts in the cabins, which are very delicate. Don't be too explicit when you look inside. Try to see through the corner of your eyes. That big stump is the spot where the legendary second generation of dwarfs lived in. There are passages and wooden bridges of the dwarfs build next to it, and coats of dwarfs were basked, which was very cute.Furano · 10.7 km from Nakafurano

The core scenic spot of Furano Lavender is famous for its horticultural landscape that combines wavy colored flower fields and different varieties of lavender fields. At the entrance of the farm, there are Furano specialty melons, honey pudding, lavender pudding, melon-flavored ice cream and lavender-flavored ice cream. For sale, there are also long tables and chairs for resting and eating. In addition, there is a gift shop on the farm that sells Furano specialty products made from lavender, such as dried lavender flowers, essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, and incense pillows. The flowering period of lavender is from July to early August, and the farm will plant other varieties of ornamental plants during the period outside the lavender flowering period. In addition, the East Tomita Farm (ラベンダーイースト) operated by Tomita Farm in Kamifurano Town is also worth visiting.Nakafurano · 1.4 km from downtown

Panoramic Flower Gardens Shikisai-no-oka is a panoramic flower garden located in theBiei hills of Hokkaido, covering an area of approx. 15 hectares. The rolling slopes are planted in rotation with approx. 30 types of flowers and plants, including lavender, lupines, sunflowers, and cosmos, which bloom continuously from late spring to late fall: in summer, lavender spreads out in purple ribbons, followed by sunflowers lifting their heads, and in the fall, they are replaced by pink and white cosmos. Rows of flower ribbons spread out along the curves of the hills, looking like an open palette from a distance, and on clear days, you can even see the distant Tokachi mountain range. Giant scarecrows stand in the flower fields, and the park also keeps a herd of alpacas that you can view up close. If you get tired of walking, you can take a tractor-pulled tour vehicle to ride around the flower fields, or try an ice cream made with fresh Biei milk. In winter, the snow-covered hills transform into a snow park, where you can also experience snow activities like snowmobiling.Biei · 14.1 km from Nakafurano

Shirogane Blue Pond (Aoiike)

Shirogane Blue Pond (Aoiike) is an artificial pond created after the eruption of Mount Tokachi, when a dam was built on the Biei River to prevent volcanic mudflow disasters, resulting in the accidental accumulation of water. The trunks of larch and birch trees, which died from long-term submersion, stand in the pond, and the blue-green water reflects the dead trees and the forest. The blue color here is not artificial. After the aluminum-rich spring water from the upstream Shirogane Onsen flows into the Biei River, it mixes with the river water to form invisible colloidal particles. These particles strongly scatter the blue light from the sun, while the white volcanic soil at the bottom of the pond makes the blue appear even more vivid. The blueness of the pond water changes with the weather, time of day, and season. You can take photos from different angles while walking along the trail by the pond. This pond is also widely known for a photograph: a work by photographer Kent Shiraishi featuring the first snow here won an award in the National Geographic Photo Contest and was subsequently selected by Apple as one of the built-in wallpapers for its computer operating system. Every winter, the pond surface freezes and is covered in snow. After nightfall, lights illuminate the dead trees and the ice, presenting a tranquil scene that is completely different from the daytime.Biei · 18.1 km from Nakafurano

Shirahige Waterfall is a groundwater-fed waterfall on the upper reaches of the Biei River. Groundwater from theMount Tokachimountain range seeps into the ground and emerges from rock crevices halfway up the canyon cliff, cascading down the cliff face in dozens of thin streams. From a distance, it resembles a hanging white beard, which is how it got its name. The ideal viewing spot is the observation deck on the bridge spanning the Biei River. Looking over the railing, the white streams and the blue-green river below are captured in the same frame, creating an iconic composition for this view. Rich in minerals, this section of the river scatters sunlight to create a translucent blue color as it flows toward the hot spring area downstream. The waterfall has different highlights throughout the four seasons: in summer, the mountains are lush and green, making the blue-green river stand out; in fall, the forest is ablaze with color; in winter, the cliffs are covered in snow, creating a striking contrast between the white snow and the blue river. Located adjacent to the hot spring town, it offers visitors a unique natural viewing and photography experience.Biei · 18.9 km from Nakafurano

Flower Land Kamifurano is a large flower field in the Furano region. In summer, the vast expanse of purple lavender stretches as far as the eye can see, blending with the magnificent Mount Tokachi in the distance to create a breathtaking landscape. Summer blooming season The flower season here begins in June, with yellow poppies kicking things off. A sea of yellow flowers sways in the breeze, signaling the arrival of summer. Next is the lavender season in July, where different varieties of lavender—ranging from pale purple to vibrant and deep purple—bloom in succession depending on their flowering period. Other months feature a variety of flowers, such as sunflowers and chrysanthemums. Farm bus Visitors can ride the farm bus through the beautiful flower fields, enjoying the delightful, fragrant atmosphere at a leisurely pace. This activity runs from June–September and costs JPY 500. Hands-on experiences During the lavender blooming season, the park allows visitors to pick flowers in the fields. Cutting your own bunch of fragrant lavender to make dried flowers is a unique travel memory. You can also participate in various fun activities, such as making your own lavender sachet or a beautiful lavender candle.Kamifurano · 8.6 km from Nakafurano

Goto Juno is not only famous in Japan, but also recognized as a generation master in the world. In pursuit of the integrity of his paintings, he insisted on using rocks as paints. In the Goto Juno Art Museum, you can see hundreds of his works, including Hokkaido and other parts of Japan, as well as Chinese scenery. Mr. Goto Juno loved the nature of Hokkaido for ten minutes, and established his studio on the Kamifurano hills where the beautiful Tokachidake can be seen. Taking this as an opportunity, he opened this museum in 1997. The museum consists of two floors. The first floor houses the museum reception, 6 exhibition rooms and the museum store, while the restaurant and reference room are located on the second floor. The restaurant at the museum is also worth mentioning. The seasonal vegetables, wine cheese, Furano curry and other delicacies are worth trying, and you can also enjoy the view of Tokachi-dake Mountain in the distance through the glass windows.Kamifurano · 7.6 km from Nakafurano

When the weather is good, the snow-capped mountains behind the Shirahige Falls will be even more beautiful. I didn’t expect that I was so lucky this time. I encountered a sunny day with super good visibility. I saw this epic beauty with my own eyes! The Shirahige Falls itself is very beautiful🥹. Coupled with the rolling snow-capped mountains in the distance🥰, it is really one of the most unforgettable moments of this trip to Hokkaido.

Hinode Park is a hilly area. From the top of the mountain, you can see the urban buildings of Kamifurano Town. Behind the hill is a camping site where many Japanese people set up tents to spend the night. I feel that the whole park is not very attractive.

Both Tomita Farm and Lavender East are beautiful. Tomita Farm has more flowers, such as French lilies, poppies, etc. After seeing them, I also want to be a flower farmer. When I was a child, I wanted to open a flower shop to sell living potted plants and some flower essential oils.
