Wat Tako - Luang Phaw Ruay is a Buddhist temple located in Phachi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Thailand. It is known for enshrining Luang Phaw Ruay, one of Thailand's 19 most senior contemporary monks. The temple houses Luang Phaw Ruay's statue and preserved body for worship. Luang Phaw Ruay passed away in 2017 at the age of 95, and his body has been kept in a glass coffin and has miraculously not decayed, becoming a pilgrimage site for devotees. Inside the temple, devotees can donate rice to those in need to accumulate merit and do good. There is a beautiful garden around the temple, and on the left side there is a large, tall man-made waterfall that adds to the temple's peaceful atmosphere. In addition, there are many donation boxes in the temple for devotees to give offerings. Around the temple there is a local market and a coffee shop where visitors can rest and buy souvenirs after paying their respects.Phachi · 3.9 km from downtown

Yacha Mengkong Temple, also known as Yachai Mengkhao Temple, was built by the founder of the Ayutthaya Dynasty. The temple was built in the 14th century to commemorate the killing of the Burmese prince in the war with Burma, so the name of the temple means a great victory. Like other ancient buildings, the outline of the temple can only be judged by the remaining foundation stones on the ground. The temple is famous for having a 28-meter-long reclining Buddha. This huge reclining Buddha lies comfortably in the sun, lying peacefully on his side surrounded by ruins, making people feel the peace and detachment of the Buddha at first sight. There are many Buddha statues around the beautiful pagoda. When you climb up the pagoda, there is a small Buddhist hall inside. There are four gilded Buddha statues in the four corners. When you look up, you can see many bats making their homes there.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 18.1 km from Phachi

Ayothaya Floating Market is built along the water and is one of the best-preserved floating markets in Thailand, retaining its original charm. Rows of small wooden houses line the banks, while men and women wearing conical hats sit in their small boats filled with goods, paddling through the water. Together with the daily life of the locals on the banks, they form a nostalgic, simple, peaceful, and harmonious picture of riverside life. Here, you can shop for local handicrafts or taste authentic Thai snacks, with every unique little house showcasing the creative touch of the supplier.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 17.2 km from Phachi

Wat Phra Mahathat was built in the period of Borom Rachathirat I (Borom Rachathirat I 1370-1388), its main tower was about 40 meters high, it was one of the earlier Khmer-style pagodas built in Ayutthaya, but now only the bottom is left. From the surrounding stupa, you can vaguely see traces of stucco decoration at that time.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 19.7 km from Phachi

Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan, also known as Wat Phanan Choeng, stands by the river. In front of the temple is a white, round, pointed pagoda approx. 15 m high. Inside the main hall is a seated Buddha statue that is 14 m wide at the front, 19 m high, and 20.17 m wide. It is gilded in gold and known by the Thai people as "Luang Pho To" (meaning very large Buddha statue). A grand Buddhist festival is held here every mid-October. According to Thai historical records, the temple was built in 1324. Over 500 years ago, when the Ming Dynasty envoy, Admiral Zheng He, sailed to the Western Oceans, he visited the then-capital of Siam, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Later, to commemorate Zheng He's visit, Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan was built nearby.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 19.5 km from Phachi

Ayutthaya Historical Park covers two-thirds of the remains of Ayutthaya, including a total of 95 sites such as the palaces (that is, the ruins of Ayutthaya), temples, and museums during the Ayutthaya Dynasty, of which 67 have been reduced to ruins, and only 4 temples still remain Most of the temples in Ayutthaya are Khmer and Sri Lankan styles. There are large grasslands, flowers, plants, pavilions, small bridges, pools, etc. between the monuments, just like a big park, with some ancient pagodas scattered among them, there is a perfect harmony. There are also large areas of grass, ponds, etc. in the park. It takes a whole day or more to see all of them. There are restaurants and hotels. Tourists can choose to rent bicycles for excursions, or take a boat ride around the moat to see an overview of the city.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 21 km from Phachi

Chaiwa Tanaran Temple, also known as the Imperial Concubine Temple, is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Ayutthaya Historical Park, outside Ayutthaya Island. It is one of the most majestic and beautiful temples in Ayutthaya. The center of the tower group is a large Khmer-style tower, surrounded by 4 small towers, and 8 smaller towers and gates outside. The 13 high towers are surrounded by 120 seated Buddhas, and 12 large Buddhas are seated in the middle of the 8 small towers, which are well preserved and solemn. The temple is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. At sunset, the warm sun shines on the river surface, reflecting the towers of the temple, forming a good silhouette, reflecting the temple's heavy sense of history and glorious past.Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 22.9 km from Phachi

Wat Phra Si Sanphet

Wat Phra Si Sanphet was the site of the former royal palace of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and contains many ruins from the ancient kingdom. Currently, three gray-white chedis remain, housing the ashes of three kings. It is said that the plaza on the right was originally a wooden palace structure, which collapsed after the fall of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya dynasty. The Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya dynasty abandoned the site due to attacks by the Myanmar army. The Myanmar army captured Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and caused extensive destruction. Today, the area around and inside the palace is filled with ruins; the orange bricks of the structures are exposed and have tilted due to gravity. This includes a former 16 m tall standing Buddha statue, which was covered in 250 kg of gold; the Myanmar army melted the statue down after capturing the city. Wat Phra Si Sanphet's three bell-shaped chedis, which taper from base to top in rings, are a prime example of ancient Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya architecture. Although they no longer possess their former grandeur after being damaged by the Myanmar army, in terms of the majestic appearance of their ancient royal palace-style architecture, these three chedis hold a status as exalted asWat Phra Kaewin Bangkok, and are hailed by UNESCO as the "second Angkor Wat."Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya · 20.6 km from Phachi

Pay homage to Luang Por Ruay, those who love making merit must not miss!! This is another temple that anyone who visits Ayutthaya Province must not miss 👍🏻 This is a temple where people come to pay homage to Luang Por Ruay, and it is also the temple with the largest Luang Por Ruay in Thailand. Nearby places include Sri Ayutthaya Zoo and Lion Park for families who bring their children. Coordinates: Wat Tako (Luang Por Ruay), Don Yang Nang Subdistrict, Phachi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province 🚗

Wat Phra Mahathat, Thailand, was a royal temple of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It is one of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya as it housed the Buddha's holy relic. Many important royal ceremonies of the Ayutthaya era had been hosted here. When the Ayutthaya Kingdom failed in 1767, Wat Phra Mahathat was severely damaged by fire and was since abandoned. The temple is located in the area of the Ayutthaya Historical Park nowadays. Attractions in Wat Phra Mahathat of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya include remains of important old buildings such as pagodas, octagonal pagodas, royal hall, small temples, murals under a Bodhi tree, and the famous sand-stone Ayutthaya-style head of the Buddha image in a tree's root.

Very shocking ruins, although only 400 years old, but full of vicissitudes. If you don't want to spend money, you can take pictures outside and leave. Or walk into the alley behind the temple, which can satisfy all your imaginations of giant phobia (people with this disease may be scared to death if they go there at night)

It was very interesting, but it was too hot the day I went. I paid 400 baht for a guided tour at the entrance. In places like this, you really need a guide to truly understand a country. The ticket also allows you to watch the performance.
