The city of Budapest is divided into two by the Danube River, and has the reputation of "Pearl of the Danube". Board a sightseeing cruise and enjoy the views from the deck along this legendary river. The verdant forest, the majestic baroque palace, the ancient and mysterious Matthias Church, which is more than 700 years old, the opera house loved by Princess Sissi, the Fisherman's Bastion, which symbolizes the seven tribes, tells the vicissitudes of thousands of years. The beautiful scenery unfolded in front of me without reservation. At dusk, the sky is gorgeous and quiet. The crimson sunset and the Danube River form a strange picture. The lights on both sides of the river are gradually rising. This is the night in Budapest, like a soft waltz accompanied by a blue Danube River.Hungary · Budapest

Fisherman's Bastion

The Fisherman's Bastion is located on the Castle Hill on the Buda side. It is a fortress named in memory of the fishermen who defended the Danube in the past. It is known as the three most shocking buildings in Hungary together with the Hungarian Parliament Building and the National Opera House. It also overlooks the Danube and overlooks the Lookout point for views of the Perth district. Historical background The Fisherman's Bastion stands on the Danube River, adjacent to the Matthias Church. It was built in 1895 and took six years to complete. This double-storey gray-white building is centered on the white minaret of the neo-Roman style. Together with several surrounding round towers, it represents the ancestral tribes of Hungary. The towers are connected by cloisters, like a labyrinth, which looks like a Disney Logo from a distance. in the castle. Several bronze statues on the Fisherman's Bastion are also quite eye-catching. One of the more famous is a horse-riding bronze statue of a Hungarian king. It was built in 1906 and is located between Matthias Church and Fisherman's Castle. The relief on the pedestal shows The king's life story. The guided tour of the Fisherman's Bastion has many steps and walking paths, and you can enjoy the scenery along the way as you climb the steps. Fisherman's Bastion has many high tower viewing platforms. It doesn't matter if it encounters windy, rainy weather, etc. The arched cloister of the viewing platform is a good shelter from the rain and summer. Take a break on the bench. Overlooking the scenery Standing on the Fisherman's Bastion, you can see the magnificent views that you can't even see from the top of the castle: the Danube, Margaret Island, the Chain Bridge, the Hungarian Parliament Building and the Freedom Hill are all in sight. The Fisherman's Bastion at night is also full of unique charm, and everything around is particularly charming under the illumination of special lights. The performance of street performers on the platform adds to the mood. It is also very romantic to come here to watch the night view. You can see many couples dating here. It is said that most of the first kisses of local young people happened here. The restaurant with the same name of the Fisherman's Bastion has seats in the north and south corridors of the Fisherman's Bastion. The dining environment is very good. The restaurant has a terrace on the high tower. Drinking coffee there and looking at the beautiful surrounding scenery is a pleasure. enjoy.Hungary · Budapest

Castle District is situated on Castle Hill on the west bank of the Danube in Budapest and has been the center of royal and religious power in Hungary since the Middle Ages. At the heart of the area is the Baroque-style royal palace built into the hillside, which now houses the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum / Castle Museum. From the palace terrace, you can take in the panoramic view of the Danube and the city skyline of the Pest district on the opposite bank. Castle Hill also hides a network of caves and wine cellars stretching for several km underground, which were historically used for storage and refuge. Today, some areas have been opened as exhibition spaces, showcasing a lesser-known side of this area. Strolling through the streets of the Castle District, you will see buildings that blend Baroque and medieval styles, quiet courtyards, and ancient ruins hidden in corners everywhere, making it a perfect place to slow down and savor the atmosphere.Hungary · Budapest

St. Stephen's Cathedral

"St. Stephen's Cathedral is located in Stephansplatz in the center of Vienna's old town. It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Vienna and one of the city's symbols. The church was first built in the 12th century as a Romanesque parish church. In the 14th century, under the leadership of Duke Rudolf IV, it underwent large-scale expansion and gradually took on the form of a Gothic cathedral. From the late 15th century, it became the cathedral of the Bishop of Vienna. A fire at the end of World War II destroyed the roof, which was later rebuilt after the war. Over the centuries, many weddings and funerals of the Habsburg dynasty were held here. Mozart was married in this church, and his funeral also took place here. Particularly striking is the church's colorful roof: hundreds of thousands of glazed tiles form diamond patterns, with the Habsburg double-headed eagle emblem embedded on the southern slope and the coats of arms of Vienna and Austria on the northern slope, shimmering brilliantly under the sunlight. The roof has an extremely steep pitch, allowing rainwater to wash it clean and preventing snow from accumulating. The Gothic main tower on the south side stands over 130 m tall and is affectionately called "Steffl" (Little Steffl) by the locals. It once housed the watchmen's quarters, where they kept watch for fires across the city and sounded the alarm bells. The north tower, halted due to construction difficulties, reaches only half the height of the main tower. Upon entering the church interior, the baroque high altar at the far end depicts the martyrdom of the patron saint Stephen; the Wiener Neustadt altar on the north side is a gothic double-winged altar, revealing gilded wood carvings of the Virgin Mary's life when opened on Sundays, with Emperor Frederick III's "A.E.I.O.U." motto still visible on its base. The stone pulpit in the central courtyard features reliefs of the four doctors of the church, adorned with carvings of a toad and lizard biting each other on its handrail, while a self-portrait of the sculptor peeking from a window hides beneath the pulpit steps; the crucifix playfully nicknamed "Jesus with a toothache" by Viennese locals is also worth pausing to admire. The catacombs house remains of over ten thousand individuals, including victims relocated after plagues and the sarcophagi/copper urns of dozens of Habsburg family members; beside the apostle choir stalls, Frederick III's red marble sarcophagus carved with over two hundred figures is regarded as a masterpiece of medieval stone sculpture. If your physical condition allows, you can climb the observation deck via the over 300 spiral stone steps of the south tower to overlook the continuous red-tiled roofs of Vienna's old town. The north tower has an elevator, allowing you to admire the approx. 20-ton "Pummerin" bell up close—one of the few giant bells in Austria and among the top-ranking surviving large bells in Europe. It only rings during important festivals like Christmas and New Year, with its deep chimes resonating throughout the entire old town on New Year's Eve.Vienna · 94.6 km from Pinkafeld

Located just an hour's drive east of Vienna, the Hof Palace is Austria's largest Baroque complex. The former residence of the Austrian Emperor was once considered one of the magnificent castles of the Habsburg Empire. In 1725, the legendary Savoy general, Prince Eugene, owned this splendid castle, splendid art terrace gardens and manor built in the 17th century. Thirty years later, Queen Maria Theresia bought it. She raised the castle one floor and redesigned the rooms on the first floor. Today visitors can visit Prince Eugene's former residence: from the eastern rooms, visitors can also enjoy views of the vibrant baroque gardens, which are dedicated to the life and work of the art-loving Prince Eugene, Prince of Savoy . The path passes through the neoclassical ballroom of the Baroque church and leads to Queen Maria Theresa's room. The rooms and furnishings on the second floor are also for visitors to appreciate and convey the 18th century lifestyle in an authentic way.Vienna · 94.2 km from Pinkafeld

An overall good experience with lots of historic reference s. Takes atleast 2-3hrs if you don't want to skip exhibition s. The musuem is open until 18:00 so plan accordingly. Many references only have a german description written next to them, but overall it is English friendly. Would only recommend this place if you are a big art enthusiast, and not just going in for a casual tour. The museum right next to it (natural history musuem) will be a better choice then.

Scanning the QR code at the entrance was quick and easy. The Belvedere Palace's art exhibition spans three floors, enough to easily fill a whole day. The park outside features fountains and sculptures depicting various figures from ancient Greek mythology. I sent photos and pictures of the sculptures to Doubao, and he explained them in detail.

Remember to arrive 20 minutes earlier before the ticket time. The place to take this legenda danube boat is at dock 7, which is behind the bridge, quite a long way to go. Spare some time for walking. It is quite windy at the upper observation deck, remember to keep urself warm. Overall it is a smooth experience, good drink is served, got many languages to choose for the audio guide. We enjoy our 1 hour boat trip ☺️

#St. Stephen's Basilica | A Sacred Place You Can't Miss in Budapest ⛪️ The most moving stop on any trip to Budapest is St. Stephen's Basilica. This basilica, which took 54 years to complete, boasts a 96-meter-high dome, the same height as the Parliament Building, symbolizing the balance between faith and secular life. Stepping into the basilica, you're greeted by gilded murals and exquisite marble sculptures. Sunlight streams gently through the stained-glass windows, creating a serene and solemn atmosphere. The basilica houses Hungary's national treasure—the Holy Right Hand of St. Stephen, the founding king, a relic spanning a millennium, silently narrating the origins and history of the nation. Be sure to buy a ticket to ascend the dome observation deck for a 360° panoramic view of the entire city. The Danube River meanders through the landscape, and the Chain Bridge, the Parliament Building, and the sea of red rooftops are all within sight. Climbing to the top at sunset, with the entire city bathed in the glow of the setting sun, is a uniquely romantic experience in Budapest. The spacious square in front of the basilica is very pleasant; after a long day of exploring, you can sit at a street-side café and quietly admire this magnificent building. If you're lucky, you can also attend a world-class organ concert and immerse yourself in the city's unique artistic charm. When you come to Budapest, don't just rush through; step inside St. Stephen's Basilica and understand the city's faith and gentleness. #HungaryTravel #BudapestCheckIn

Hofburg Palace is one of Vienna's most iconic attractions, showcasing the grandeur of the former imperial residence of the Habsburg dynasty. The palace complex is vast, with beautifully preserved architecture, elegant courtyards, and fascinating museums that offer a glimpse into Austria's royal history. The Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum, and the Imperial Silver Collection are particularly worth visiting, each telling a different part of the empire's story. Walking through the palace feels like stepping back in time, with every room reflecting the luxury and sophistication of imperial life. The surrounding area is equally impressive, with charming streets, cafés, and historic buildings that make it easy to spend several hours exploring. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or royal heritage, Hofburg Palace provides an enriching experience and is undoubtedly one of the highlights of any trip to Vienna.
