Things to do in Qiandao Lake

The scenery at Huangshan Peak is quite beautiful. From the summit, you can clearly see the naturally formed "天下为公" (Tianxia Weigong, meaning "the world belongs to all") shape on the island, especially the character "公" (gong, meaning "public"), which is remarkably lifelike. This time, carrying luggage and backpacks was inconvenient, so we chose to take the cable car up the mountain. The cable car ride to the top only took five minutes. If I come again, I plan to hike up the stone steps, which would allow me to slowly appreciate the scenery along the way, have more time to explore, and also get some exercise. Overall, the experience was quite good.

Tianyu Mountain is not high. It takes about 40 minutes to hike from the bottom to the top, with a total elevation gain of 164 meters. There is not much scenery along the way, but the view of Qiandao Lake and the sunset from the top is quite good.

The lake view was beautiful, but the island experience was terrible. The cable car ticket was expensive, but the ride was quick. There wasn't much to do on the island, except for the lake view. The boat ticket was ridiculously expensive and not worth the price; compared to Gulangyu Island, it was a bargain. The lunch buffet sounded good, but the taste was mediocre. The selection was limited, and the portions were small. If you arrived late, the food was already sold out, and they didn't replenish it. There was no white rice, just steamed buns, haha. It was totally overpriced.

Personally, I preferred the natural scenery of the Southeast Lake area, which is less commercialized, and Huangshan Peak is definitely worth it. The cruise ship and the guide on board provided excellent service; the guide's explanations were very thorough, offering insights into the history and current state of Qiandao Lake.

The scenery was picturesque, surrounded by lakes on three sides, and the place was very clean. They even upgraded my room for free, and the staff were very welcoming and attentive, especially the handsome guy in the lobby who provided excellent service. There's a swimming pool, so it wasn't crowded during the off-season.

Qiandaohu Tianyu was one of the highlights of our trip. The mountain escalator is a game-changer — instead of a tiring hike, you glide up through the hillside while the views of Qiandao Lake and its islands slowly open up below. It’s relaxing, scenic, and makes the spot accessible for almost everyone. At the top, the panorama is stunning and perfect for photos.Then came the water slide, and it was so much fun! It’s long, smooth, and exciting without being too scary. You do get splashed, but the staff there will give out a light raincoat for free. The staff were friendly and organized, and I felt safe the whole time.What I loved most is the combo: escalator up, water slide down. It feels like a mini adventure park mixed with a spectacular natural viewpoint. The only comment that I can say that the video for the water slide should be free and included for what we have paid but instead we need to pay for an extra fee and the video is so edited,

If you don't want to go to the islands, the botanical garden is a great choice for your trip. It's rich in negative oxygen ions, has beautiful scenery on sunny days, and you can get close to various animals. It's also suitable for camping and picnics.

If price isn't a factor, this is a pretty good adventure park where you can experience fun that many other parks don't offer. What I especially enjoyed was the cable car ride upwards. During the ascent, you can see many distant natural landscapes, and when you reach the highest point, you can overlook Thousand Island Lake.

The number one lake view in East China, bar none! The weather was great today, the rain stopped and it wasn't sunny. We visited Osmanthus Island with monkeys, Tianchi Island with koi carp, and Huangshan Peak overlooking the magnificent island group. We also rented a drone for aerial photography, and successfully completed our trip.

After waiting for 2 days, we finally waited for an hour without wind and rain. The store contacted us and said that we could fly at 4pm. We grabbed our kids and went there. We finally got on the hot air balloon. Although the clouds were still very thick, it did not affect the beautiful scenery. We also saw Phnom Penh in the sun. We were so lucky😀
