Jasmine City is an ancient city brimming with Thai charm, recreating the atmosphere of the time of King Rama V. Its antique buildings, streets, and traditional markets exude a strong retro feel, making you feel as if you've stepped into old Thailand.
Jasmine City tickets are 250 baht. It's recommended to buy tickets online in advance, as it's usually more convenient and may offer discounts. Thai clothing is available for rent within the park, but the quality and styles are slightly inferior to those in Bangkok. Therefore, we opted to focus on dining, taking photos, and then strolling around to soak in the beautiful atmosphere.
The entire park is dominated by traditional Thai architecture, with stilt houses, aristocratic residences, bridges, towers, and traditional wooden houses all replicated and presented before your eyes. It also recreates early traditional markets and food culture, including traditional food stalls, retro cafes, classic Thai dishes, and boats along the riverbank… Diverse and authentic local cuisine. Every bite is a classic Thai flavor. They even use wood-fired stoves and serve in ceramic and rooster-shaped bowls – the antique style is incredibly well done! 👍👍 The park staff are all dressed in traditional Thai attire, further enhancing the atmosphere.
Another highlight of the park is the "ancient coins" 💰. Cash is not accepted within the park; you need to exchange for the park's special ancient coins first. 5 baht equals 1 ancient coin (a string of 100 taels 🐷). These can be used to purchase traditional snacks or handicrafts. Paying with ancient coins is fun and has a sense of ceremony, but it's a bit troublesome 😩😩. Most people ask staff to collect the coins for them, and any unused coins can be exchanged back at the service desk at the entrance.
The park It's not large, but the environment is very comfortable.
Beautiful scenery everywhere to take photos, making it perfect for photography enthusiasts.
However, the downside is the lack of signage, making it easy to miss attractions. There are traditional performances and activities within the park, but no information about them was available. If the park were more well-planned, the overall experience would be much more memorable.
Although Jasmine City is a man-made ancient city park, the overall experience is still quite good. The rustic atmosphere allows you to stroll around at your own pace, taking photos and immersing yourself in early Thai life and culture.
Alternatively, taking a leisurely rickshaw ride is also a good option. The rickshaw drivers at the entrance are incredibly helpful; they even helped us take photos and taught us how to lift the rickshaw for posing.
