Melissani Cave Lake
Located near Sami on the Greek island of Cephalonia, Melissani Cave Lake is a wonder where nature and mythology intertwine. This underground lake is composed of a natural cave and its waters, which display a dreamlike blue-green color, like a paradise on earth. Its history is closely tied to ancient Greek mythology. According to legend, the water nymph Melissani was deeply in love with Pan, the god of the mountains and forests, but Pan did not return her affection. In despair, Melissani threw herself into the lake, which is how the lake got its name. The cave's geological structure is also breathtaking. An earthquake in 1953 caused the cave roof to collapse, creating the natural entrance seen today. Visitors can take a small boat to tour the lake and admire the stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave, experiencing nature's extraordinary craftsmanship. Antisamos Beach in Greece is a very beautiful beach. The water here is very clear, and you can see the sand and corals on the seabed at a glance. This is a holy place for snorkeling. You can clearly see the small fish swimming in the sea and various shells. It is definitely a good place for a beach vacation.
